All odds in this market is purely driven by the punters. If he’s now more likely to join Man City, that’s purely because people have put money on it, rather than insider information. He’s staying, and I can’t wait for this thread to be worthwhile visiting again. It’s been a nightmare the last couple of months, with the Euros and these links. -
If only 31% of players in his position made an error that led to a goal, all those who didn’t would be in the top 69%. That’s the way I look at it, anyway.

These are Hughes’ defensive stats from 19/20, by the way.

It’s an underwhelming signing, but he’s better than all of our other midfielders. Jury still out on Sanson. He’s great defensively, averages more than 3 tackles per 90 in his career, and on top of that is very good with the ball. My only issue is that he’s quite slow. It’d be about £10m, and if it means we can buy Bailey, Alvarez, CB and GK, then it’s a decent decision.

He’ll be missed. One interesting thing about this, was that Gregg Evans had the article up on The Athletic just as Villa announced it. I wonder if the Villa decided to throw him a crumb, or if Terry told him?

Can’t be having our boy on the second page! Didn’t happen for him today. Interesting to see him play as a 10 today, would make sense if we sign Bailey.

Our best player today. Probably the midfielder I have most confidence in at the moment.

If he was on £40k-50k per week or less, and it was a one year deal, and meant we could put some more budget in to (in my opinion) more pressing issues, then I’d be fine with it. We could then address the position properly next year. There might also be a ready made replacement in the youth side a year down the line, which is what we may have to think about soon. There needs to be a roadmap (god I hate that word) to the first team squad, otherwise we’ll potentially see a mass exodus ala Chelsea.

He played as a 10 in the final, but only because Aaron Ramsey was out. Prior to that he played as a number 8.

Apart from Leicester, we’ve had the best summer so far. These things take time. Trust the process, and the trust the club.

Never seen him play, but it’s the wise thing to do. The Leicester thing to do. I’d be all for it.

There’s one thing not wanting to sign Abraham (of which I transcribe to), but to say he wasn’t brilliant for us, and to dismiss his ability is ridiculous. He’ll go on to have a very good career, I just don’t think it’ll be with us.
