We didn't suffer because Jack was playing in CM we suffered because the forwards we have are not up to standard so he had to get played out of position (in a position he hates), if we get a decent winger in Jan (Benrahma unless Spurs get in there first) it will transform us.

If we stay up he will give us another season I reckon.

Why would you build a team around a player who's not likely to be around in 18 months, I do think he will be around next season but after that he'll be coming into his prime and will go to a bigger team most likely playing in the CL (hopefully somewhere in Spain as he'll be appreciated in that league). And the best of luck to him he's given more than enough for the team he supports!

You don't seem to grasp our wage structure, Heaton and Henri are our only 2 players on over £40k then a whole bunch including Jack, Kodj, Targett on £30k+ Wesley is not in that group.

Wesley was on £7k a week in Belgium I think its far to say he'll be on around £20k a week if that tbh.

Danny Ings was a great bit of business 18m compared to 22m for Wesley! probably on 60k a week compared to wesleys 20k but worth every bloody penny if his goals keep them up!!

Our midfield would be fine if we actually played our best players in there, a CF that can score is an absolute must.....but gonna be interesting to see if the board back the manager, have a feeling they might hold back given his recent results.

I do think our gung ho 4-3-3 has been an issue, the best managers adapt and DS seems to be all or nothing, we just don't have the talent to play 4-3-3 properly. I actually like the idea of a back 3/5 but under DS it will never happen.

I really hope you are wrong but I am starting to think along those lines! Other than "attractive" football which has now disappeared in the hard cold light of the PL what does DS bring to the table? I'm beginning to question under what credentials was he brought in? A good judge of a manager is there win rate under different teams and DS had never broke 40% before he was appointed as head coach. Last season the 10 game unbeaten run raised that, I daren't work out his PL win rate in would just depress me. I just think he has a squad good enough to stay in this league, if we go down it's because of him. I really doubt the board will give him much money for the January window as they are probably beginning to wonder about his ability.

Marvelous is neither big nor physical? He is very good at getting a foot in on tackles and breaking up play against the lesser teams but doesn't offer much else, if he retains the ball after winning it usually it results in a sideways or backwards pass.

A young Michael Essien (note the Ghanaian connection) plucked from some obscure league would be very nice. A true all rounder.
