Just watched the press conference probably the most down beat I've ever seen DS, not as up and at them as he normally is. Hope I'm reading to much into it.

I know no one will care but.....that's all my Christmas shopping done and even wrapped, took advantage of a couple of days off works. BOSH get in there can chill and drink cold ones in 40 degree heat this weekend now!

I know no one will care but................. It's 9:15 pm here I've just watched the second half of the Liverpool Salzburg match, got a week off before starting a new job and Perth decides to have a heatwave got the AC on full blast day one of four that will hit 40 degrees, I do like Oz but feck me this is unbearable! A few G & T's are helping

It's no biggy for me whether he is left or right footed, DS just needs to play the best CB to cover whilst Mings is out simple as.

Oh come on don't quote some nondescript (American FFS!) article from 2014. A lot of the best CB pairings in history were same footed (mostly right footed) it's not a big issue!

Why the **** are people saying play Hause I just don't get it? For those that are saying play Hause as a replacement for Mings please explain your reasoning and how you came to that decision.

It really doesn't matter one bit if CB's are left right or two footed makes not one bit of difference.

Not saying he wasn't 'quality' on his debut but lets put some perspective on this it was in a 0–6 win away to Bulgaria! Big wins often flatter players...............still our best CB though by a mile.

That is not the way to approach the league we have to take points off teams above that 'mini-league of 7' as you put it, as teams in that 'mini-league of 7' will takes points off us it's inevitable!

Maybe (and this is a just a maybe) We as supporters over hyped them a little early season because of a couple of outstanding performances and they really aren't as good a quality as we hyped them up to be, I suppose we will see over the course of a full season.

Top players don't always make top coaches, in fact not many top players have made top top coaches.

Did Pep want him? Or really want rid of him? Talk is cheap. I think he's doing OK not pulling up trees but has potential, but 15mil I'm not so sure, lets see where he is in 2-3 years time.

I think Smith needs to forget that philosophy totally and adapt the the play your best 11 philosophy, sentiment will get us relegated.

Not sure the issue lies solely with the defense though, it's more the way the team defends as a unit when we lose possession. Playing expansive pressing football is great and lovely to watch but requires a well drilled defense strategy as soon as we either lose possession during the press or the press finishes with an attempt on goal the team as a whole needs to react quickly and decisively and everyone should know there role and what is required, I think we are bit headless (as a team) for those first 10-20 seconds when losing possession and in this league that is all it takes!

Looks like your wish will come true for the next few games at least, and it actually scares the bejesus out of me not that I don't rate Engels as I do, but don't think Konsa is quite ready yet and despite the odd mistake Mings is by far and away our best CB! We will miss his aerial ability and his big mouth organising the defense!

Ah OK thanks. Do you think Vassilev whilst maybe not knocking on the first teams door is likely having a close eye cast over him by the senior team management? (more so than the rest of the u23's I mean)
