Whilst I agree Smith would be OK down there he's proven he's not good enough up here. We aren't a big enough pull to headhunt a new manager it would be a case of sack Smith and see who applies for the role.

Bit of both but a better manager would have a few more points on the board. Recruitment was terrible last summer just dire! we needed one or two more with PL experience. Wesley was a disaster! Smith as nice a guy as he is isn't the right choice.

But absolutely zero point in keeping him if the aim is to get straight back into the PL. It's tough as Championship is probably his level and with a decent enough side he can do well he's proven that. But he has been a huge disappointment in the PL for me, well and truly out of his depth.

I'd like to see Benitez in charge! And feel he's a realistic option.

There will always be those who's mood follows the highs and lows of a team, so I think without doubt the mood will change for some yes. Until they get let down at the next game then it would be all doom and gloom again. For me if we win by playing well I will probably sit up and say hello what happened there are we turning a corner? Could we survive? But going on this seasons form I would probably get that predictable kick in the balls next game to bring me down to earth. Unless DS takes us on a 8 game winning streak I don't think he's the man to manage us going forward IF the board do have this vision of turning us into a decent PL side pushing for a spot in Europe.

If there ever was a must win game this season this is it! Lose and I will concede we are definitely down. St James without 50k smelly geordies roaring them on could be ours for the taking! Please turn things around.

Jack's return from injury was the impetus behind our run of form leading to promotion, and Wembley was a fluke we pretty much had a bye for two rounds and got punished in a final we didn't turn up for. And he's managed us pretty poorly so far in the PL!

Jack is very talented but nowhere near a 100mil player!

I'd probably stretch to 20 mil for McGinn Scotland don't produce that many decent players so they tend to get inflated a little when a good one comes along!

Agreed not a chance in hell. I'd like to keep hold of TM hopefully he has a high release price like 40mil should we go down, not a cat in hells chance someone will pay that. He's never going to be in the starting 11 for England but could be in the squad. He's a top bloke IMO and I can see him managing (and being good at it) in the future.

Unfortunately I agree, but In reality I don't think he deserves that backing. He's an affable guy and want's the best for the team he supports but that best isn't him! We have been awful to watch this season fecking awful! We had an easy cup run against some u18's teams and got a total lesson in the final. Brentford have made huge strides since he left (yes I know they have spent a bit of cash) and he hasn't changed a single game this season! At no point have I rushed to VT after a game to heap praise for a solid decision with a sub or change in formation that has made us a better team during a match.........not once! I've probably only enjoyed the Everton at home and Norwich away games. I'd like a change but really can't see it happening I think to many at VP are under the illusion it was a year to early to get promoted so he'll get more time! All I see is another couple of years of yoyo-ing he's not PL quality, but he is a Villa fan so that's OK apparently. OH and Terry needs to trot on too WTF is he doing at this club? Go and suck fat Frank elsewhere zero use at BMH! I still remember that interview with Jack early season saying the position he hates most is wide left! WTF are we doing playing our head and shoulders above best player in a position he hates at a time he's hitting his prime and want's to get into the England side, no wonder he's on the way out!

But that's where we have been signing players from. So where in your opinion should we be signing players from if not from the so called poorer Prem teams, Championship, Belgium or lower French leagues? I could probably replace 6 out of our last starting 11 with Championship and 'poorer PL' players quite easily and it would improve us unbelievably!
