  1. We can always rely on you to provide the most eloquent response.
  2. There's so much wrong with this, but for me the highlight is the short clip of the Enckleman incident. Our goalkeeper making a mistake was such a massive moment for them, they included it in their montage. That's so sad it's almost not funny.
  3. The dynamic between those two clubs is basically the same as it is between us and SHA. The vitriol between the fanbases is reaching a fever pitch, and if they ever do play each other again it'll get very ugly. Sunderland can still get promoted this season and Newcastle are still fairly likely to get relegated. If the stars align, we could see this fixture play out next season. I have a feeling that it's going to be next season or never again, though.
  4. I just went to have a look at it, and I still couldn't tell you what it is.
  5. Ty is a true captain, and a proper shining light in this club.
  6. I'm not surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case for Digne as well.
  7. Yeah, that goal was a peach. Not many players could've hit it that sweet tbf. And it was against Crystal Palace, I think.
  8. Mad that something so simple seems like such a huge deal.
  9. Looks to me like he roams. We've lacked genuine creative quality from the right, so it seems Emi had been tasked with doing it all. It really supports the idea that playing alongside Phil will elevate his game, as it could effectively cut his burden in half.
  10. For the club and the team, yes. But the fans? No. Sentimentality is perfectly fine. In fact the whole point of the fans is to be sentimental, right? He played a huge role in getting us to where we are now, so we should remember him fondly. The club itself should be ruthless because it needs to remain competitive, but the fans have no say at all in what the club did in the transfer market so we don't need to be ruthless.
  11. He made a pretty big sacrifice by breaking his fast, then turned into prime Ronaldo for our biggest game in the last 5 years at least. Definitely one who should be talked about for years to come, for that alone.
  12. It has to be something like that. Unless Steer is happy with his lot here, I get the feeling he'd be angling for some game time somewhere.
  13. I genuinely hope AEG is fondly remembered by the fans. We have some absolute plums in the fanbase who refuse to acknowledge the excellent work he's done for us in the time he's been here.
  14. I love the guy too, but friend, wait until you see this Phil fella we've brought in. Rumor has it he likes the odd screamer.
  15. Reckon you could link the video? I'd like to see that.
  16. I find myself watching it every time they lose, though. I don't know why.
  17. True, but they're comedy gold. The noses are just plain sad.
  18. Hopefully with Phil around, Buendia should get more joy on the right. Cash is pretty handy from RB on his day too, so this signing could hopefully balance the whole team.
  19. You've clearly never met a Birmingham City fan. Can't catch a break, them lot.
  20. I came here to mention this. I don't know why, but that made me a little sad for him.
  21. Birds of a feather flock together, and all that. It seems to be true that you can tell someone's personality by the club they support.
  22. I think it's fair to say we're all pretty hyped about it. I think some of us are trying to temper expectations a bit though because expecting him to be as good as he was at Liverpool is putting way to much pressure on him. The fact we've managed to convince a potentially world class player to take a pay cut to join us, and we managed to negotiate a "try before you buy" opportunity is unbelievable, and means there's no downside to this deal at all. He doesn't have to be anywhere near his best to live up to that.
  23. Well, that took a turn. Not an unexpected one, mind you.
  24. Signing Chris Wood and Kieran Tripper surely means they're resorting to the ol' basic Brucey "flick it onto the clogger's noggin" brand of football that gets shit teams out of the danger zone. It's not the romantic vision the barcodes have been carping on about since the Saudis rocked up but truthfully, it's probably the smart move for now.
