  1. Tbf, Trez being one of the the fastest players at the club is more indicative of the rest of our team. I mean, he is a winger after all, he is supposed to be one of the fastest players at the club. But for being one of the fastest players at the club, he isn't very fast in general.
  2. Then you should've mentioned that fact in the first place. Your original post neither said nor implied anything of the sort. You simply stated that we couldn't judge Wesley because he hasn't played enough games(arguable considering he's close to 2000 minutes) but left Samatta and Davis to the wolves.
  3. Despite being injured for half a season, Wesley has played twice the combined minutes of Samatta and Davis.
  4. You didn't, but the original post was pointing out how crap all 3 of them were. So the fact that you were defending only Wesley because he hadn't played enough when that would actually apply to all 3 of them seemed odd.
  5. We don't need this guy, we can just get Neil Warnock.
  6. Well, depends on what you define as massive but Grealish and Mings are arguably not even our highest earners. Grealish is questionable because we don't know how much him signing the contract of the start of the season bumped his wage but Mings is only on 25k per week with many of our players earning more than him.
  7. I'm not too sure about that. I can see us getting lowballed this season and like another poster said, we'll be more than willing to keep him here with us for the Championship. At which point that would be incredibly frustrating to Jack.
  8. They've scored 2 goals in 4 games since the restart.
  9. I don't know where to post this, so I'll just put this here.. https://www.reddit.com/r/PremierLeague/comments/hmgh3q/my_american_partner_says_she_hates_aston_villa/ I mean, does our badge really look that bad?
  10. According to transfermarkt, the Turkish league has half the value of the Championship. So if we assume value as a proxy for quality, about half the standard. If I have to take a guess, if we're aiming for automatic promotion I don't think he's good enough. He'll probably do okay at some midtable championship club though.
  11. This. Most of the time when the ball goes to him, he moves forward, realizes that he can't go through easily, then slowly moves backward and passes it sideways or backwards. Gone is the daring Jack who gives incisive passes everywhere and drives our attack forward. He's been playing it very safe for these last few games when we need him to be the guy that breaks the lock of the opposite defence, not another water carrier. I'm at the point where I think he is actively hurting our attack with how much he slows the pace down.
  12. Anyone else getting sick of the whole "he's not a championship player" posts? Not just to Jota, just in general. The standard of the Championship is way below the standard of the PL. A player needs to be absolutely shit in the PL before we should even entertain the notion of them not even being Championship standard. And by absolutely shit I mean, not even a single goal or assist level if he was an attacker.
  13. Our finishing has been garbage tbh. Look, I get that we aren't creating that many chances, but we should definitely be finishing more than we have.
  14. Taylor by far the best performing player so far for us according to whoscored lol.
  15. This is you before, during and after every game.
  16. ?? The maths sums up to 0 points here. We got a point against Sheffield and lost a point at Palace.
  17. Its actually pathetic that we have a worse goal difference than the team that lost 8-0 this season
  18. No they didn't. My eyes and an xG of 2.39 say otherwise. Goddamn what is with this revisionist history of that match. Edit: Ok to be more precise, they had a lot of half chances to be sure, but they had an absolute shit ton of them. Enough for them so significantly threaten our goal. If the narrative is supposed to be like that was a defensive masterclass, that's just patently not true. I remember every time we sent the ball away it would keep coming back again and again. It was a miracle we held on for so long.
  19. We really weren't that good. You're acting like we dominated Liverpool. We nicked a lucky goal, held on for dear life and the floodgates finally opened in the final 10 minutes. There was also a controversial VAR decision ruling Firmino's goal out in the early stages of the match. Like I said, we really weren't that good.
  20. I think its because most English players would rather stay in England than move abroad and the mid-table Spanish clubs simply aren't able to offer enough to attract them. The obvious exception is when we're talking about the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid who are capable of attracting any player from any league both from their reputation and their finances.
  21. This is a bit of a myth. Smith has tried as many different formations as Potter has this season, both at 12.
  22. I remember when Guzan won our Player of the season, the same season as Benteke's debut season. That was the moment I realized Player of the year awards meant nothing. I swear, people purposely avoid voting for the obvious option just because it makes them seem hipster or something. Like when Mcginn won player of the season last year. Look, Mcginn was a beast but trying to say he was more integral to our squad last season than Grealish is a massive **** stretch.
