  1. Also the Norwich game they had 17 shots with like 6 or 7 on target. But aside from their goal I can't think of any truly clear cut chances. We have also been reasonably unlucky with deflections with mings potentially causing us to concede 2 from range wilson and ndombele. 1 could have missed Heaton may have saved the other
  2. All 3 games in which we were the better team by far until he went off. This is not necessarily causation but he clearly provides an outlet because he is so dangerous.
  3. Tbf that is the equivalent of 3 games even if it was against easier opponents.
  4. Whilst yes the 2 best teams had the best attackers but much more importantly they had by far the best midfields. Xavi iniesta and busquets were all the best midfielders in the world same with madrids Midfield trio as well.
  5. I personally think we should offer him a final 1 year contract after this one is up. This is to show that we will take care of you if you put your body on the line for team success. What player would risk playing through injury if we treated Chester poorly.
  6. I have noticed a lot of people seem to think trezeguet is better than El Ghazi. I would like to know why. Trez does some bits better than El Ghazi like defending and tracking back but for me el ghazi is just so clinical. As it stands el ghazi is on track for 10+ goals and 15+ assists by the end of the season. This is unlikely but if he finishes with say 8 and 8 he will have done brilliantly. On top of that I think el ghazi has scored or assisted in every game we have scored 2 or more goals. A goal against Everton and Burnley with assists against arsenal and Norwich. For me he is also very strong in the ball and has great link up play with our other players.
  7. I was saying compared to Grealish or mings. Mcginn you can replace him with an energy man off the bench and a just a regular skillful player. Grealish you can't replace with multiple players because it is the ability to glide past players then pick the right pass and find it 9 times out of ten that makes him so effective. John is effective because he runs hard and is reasonably skillful. But if you make a sub at half time or around 5p minutes you can get 2 full halves of hard running as opposed to 70 minutes.
  8. He is definitely the easiest to replace. Mcginn is a quality player but you can easily replace him with 2 players that cover all his attributes you can't do that with jack or tyrone if they don't have all the attributes they are instantly half as good.
  9. The purpose of a buy back clause is so if we get a 60 million pound bid from real. And city want him for their team they get to pay 25 million and offer luiz way more than anyone else would be willing too. The players association has everything to do with it. It is designed to be in players best interests and part of that is no being forced into moves I'm pretty sure that would be a breach of Premier league regulations to force a player into contract with your team.
  10. In all the games I have watched kane play he never adds anything to a game except score. Tammy can at least dribble past players the only dribbling kane is doing is when he speaks.
  11. Dean Smith has stated that we want to go on a cup run. I value prem survival over a cup win but I think it is u likely we beat Liverpool even playing at full strength. It is possible I just don't really see much benefit in risking our players and not making sure they are in tip top shape for the games following which could decide our season.
  12. Completely disagree. Jack has a sketchy injury history and so does mings and Engels yet we have played all of them but Engles all the minutes in the prem so far. On top of that if we want to succeed in the Cup which we clearly do we will likely need to play jack and John against wolves or any other teams further on in the contest. We will definitely rest our players at some point in the season and to me that should be right before we enter a stretch of difficult but winnable games that could cement our position in the middle of the table. The last thing we need is Jack going down against Liverpool or wolves and being out for 2 months of the season. There are also a couple of added benefits where we get to play our second choices and determine which plays we will be able to rely on throughout the season. Would Davis or Kodjia be the answer if Wesley went down. What about if targett and Engels went out would we play hause full back or Taylor, or konsa and Chester Centre half. These are questions we should answer now before we enter a stretch of easy games that could end with us cut adrift because we had injuries.
  13. No what is crazy is anticipating Grealish, Mcginn, Mings and Wesley to play every game in the league hopefully play 5 or 6 important Cup games and not run the risk of a serious injury. If we are going to rest players we should be resting In games that we are likely to lose and not in 6 pointers or winnable games come the end of the season. I want us to go for the win but resting players is important.
  14. He'd probably be a similar price to wesley but he sounds like he could be quality. How has done him the champions league?
  15. The players association would not stand for that. In the modern era football is about player power and having a glorified release clause is very unlikely to force Luiz to sign for City. Luiz no longer has a contract with City and therefore he is not bound by our contract with City. Luiz can and will decide where ha ays in the future. He may choose to go back to city or he may not but that is is his choice.
  16. For me you play Tammy over kane because all kane can do is score wereas Tammy is actually skilled on the ball. I would probably play Sterling, mount, maddison, Grealish with a holding Midfield player. If England are worried about defense mount or maddison can go out wide instead of Grealish and he can tuck in and do the dirty work.
  17. Ah so I was nearly right originally but remember de bruyne has played one less game so he is still further ahead than you would think.
  18. We have only seen Luiz in a defensive role. As others have pointed out he is clearly a box to box player. On top of that he clearly has the dribbling skill which Grealish and mcginn has he just does not utilise it as a effectively. Grealish uses his to.draw players in and play a killer pass and mcginn uses his to create a shot for himself. I have seen Luiz have some great moments of skill but not really do much with it. When i said mcginn is better at shooting I was including the full package including from inside the box which I think Luiz would also be good at because of the skill he has and the power he generates. Another key similarity with John is they are both shit at positioning themselves to receive a pass from a teammate. Compared to Jack they both play a lot of short sideways passes and they both play lots of long balls especially to switch the play. Reading your description of Jack's game makes me think you don't watch him much. Yes Luiz is not at the level where he has it wrapped up in a nice little package like John or Jack but he clearly is very similar in style of play to both of them. I think the dream is he becomes debruyne but with better defense and dribbling (which I believe is de bruynes largest weakness/something he isn't outstanding at)

Agreed but getting quality back ups on the cheap is a good model where you spend big on one or 2 players and get 3 or 4 more for cheaper allowing you to strengthen your squad overall especially if one of the cheaper players over performs.

I wasn't saying necessarily Norwich will go down but getting stand out performers make sense especially if they would essentially be a bargain buy.
  21. Sorry that stat is a couple of games old he currently has 29. Wayyyy more than anyone else.

I'd like to see if we can put in cheeky offers for the best players from relegated clubs maybe buendia on the cheap or something like that.
  23. Against City or Liverpool we should either rest our players and the other we should go for broke. I'd go for the win against City but rest Jack, John, wes and mings against Liverpool. For me we need to have players fully at the ready against wolves, Chelsea, Leicester and United as for me they are all winnable games.
