  1. Yeah, we could pull back 820k p/w (ish), or 42.6m a year in wages just from these players. even if we then bought 4 players in the summer (ie: 2 players on 125k p/w each, and 2 players on 50k p/w - for a total of £350k p/w), we are still saving 450k+ p/w and £20m+ a year. Would help our overall FFP/salary cap position i would guess.
  2. must be true. always is with us it seems.

    Unai Emery

Can't watch it right now, what were some good take aways from it?
  4. i just realised that Jordan Henderson will prob be starting for them tomorrow.
  5. i agree. if we spent the 100m well, it would improve us a lot, "overall". Its all down to if the money is spent well though. i would trust Emery to spend it well tbh.
  6. tbh, i can see him not playing against Ajax, to give him more time. Its a bit like the Ramsey thing isnt it, but to a lesser degree, the same, small (ish), recurring injury?
  7. yep, agree, but will never happen though, tbh.
  8. a salary cap the same for all PL clubs would work, a salary cap based on turnover/revenue would make the gap even harder to bridge, as some of the "big" clubs like Manure, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, and even Spurs, have such a huge turnover compared to us, it would be a monumental task to even get close to them in terms of salary as a % of turnover.
  9. no idea, but if we want to meet the new salary to turnover requirements, and be able to actually spend big on wages for our first team players, we need to be having backup players on reasonable salaries. honestly, dont tell me there arent players out there, just as good as carlos, for half or less of that salary.
  10. he's decent, but as 3rd/4th choice CB on 100k p/w, defo not worth the salary cost. I would do my best to offload him in the summer tbh.
  11. The PL is more competitive than the germa league.
  12. i have heard a few people say the third film should be Messiah and CoD as one film. Not sure how it would work as a timeline, due to the years between each, but both books are fairly small as stand alone books, compared to Dune itself. Dunno, part of me really wants something like that, because i would love to see the series up to and including CoD on film, but eh...im sure Villeneuve could make messiah an entire movie. i get the impression that Villeneuve wanted to do up to messiah only, so we prob wont get to see CoD, which for me is a missed opportunity, because i loved CoD, and i thought it really brought Dune and Messiah in to a nice conclusion, well, not conclusion, but i feel like Dune, Messiah and CoD is one ark, with GEoD kind of a secondary ark but including CoD, i dunno, like overlapping arks. ie: Dune, Messiah and CoD is one ark, then CoD and GEoD is like a second ark, but GEoD is also its own ark.....blimey lol.
  13. I can see Carlos saying..."but if you want to talk about it"........... "send me message, send me location"....
  14. what im about to say is clearly untrue, but from the perspective of someone who has read Dune probably 10+ times, and the others in the series numerous times, i cant imagine how someone who hasnt read the books could actually "get" Dune in just 2 movies. Now, from the amount of people who loved the 2 Dune movies, and havent read the books, my belief is clearly not true, but maybe there is some truth in it, in the sense that the books give much more detail and nuance, that underpin the whole story, like a deeper understanding etc, but if you dont know it in advance, i guess you just dont, and take the film on face value, and its still superb i guess? anyways, glad you liked it.
  15. I agree that Dune itself tends to be marmite, so im not entirely surprised the films are the same. Dune is just that type of book, that most people love it or hate it, or just cant read it, and there is a smaller numbers of "meh" in the middle. Personally i love it, but if you dont, you dont, each to their own. I think the excitement for many people who do love it, is hightened due to the fact that the book is 60 ish years old, wow.....just saying that sounds weird, anyway, my point is, that so many people who love the books, have been waiting so long for a brilliant adaptation of the book(s), that when it does happen, the feeling is that much more higntened, and people want to talk about it, i guess. There was the 80s Dune film, but tbh it was comically bad, so this Dune feels like a true watershed moment for many who love the series, to finally see their love of the books, translated to a brilliant film (in their opinion), by a brilliant director. ie: personally i have been waiting nearly 30 years for someone to make a worthy film adaptation of the books, some may have been waiting longer. On a side note, the only tv series/film that i thought was actually any good, was the Children of Dune mini series starring James McAvoy, suffice to say, its been a long wait for many, so i can see why its such a big thing for some.
  16. wow, high praise, really that good? Dune is also my favourite book (well....maybe....one of the other Dune books might challenge it for me personall)...anyways.... Is it really that good!? i need to get my butt down the cinema to see it.....
  17. tbf Arsenal have a game in hand, and if they win it we are six points behind them, and the points of the top 3 would be 63, 62 and 61, then us on 55, Spurs on 50 with a game in hand, then Manure on 44 in 6th. I do think, if we are honest, its a 3 horse race for the PL. We are in a fight for 4th or 5th, with my fingers crossed that Manure dont have some sort of mad run, and it stays a 2 team challenge for 4th/5th.
  18. just to confirm, as it stands now, 1st to 4th Champions League, 5th & 6th Europa League, and 7th Conference League???
  19. im not 100% sure how it works, but im sure any sign on fee is also required to be factored in to FFP, and i bet he didnt get a small sign on fee. granted, i dont think he would have got a 25/30m+ sign on fee, but i bet it was big, 10m+?? A bit like Kamara, yes he was free, but i bet he got a huge signing on fee. My poiont is, any sale of these types of players isnt 100% profit i wouldnt think, as we would need to consider/factor in the sign on fee, which i think would be huge in these types of cases.

    Unai Emery

King Unai after game week 27. 11 to go....
  21. Emery goes in to McPhee's office and says: "Austin, all this analysis and our free kick defending is s**t.......can you f****ing fix it please?" McPhee.....
  22. exactly this. its a learning curve for him, moments of promise, moments of learning and improvement. If anyone is calling him out after so few minutes for us, you really need to have a look at urself.
  23. Watkins just said in himself in his interview. "We were too relaxed at the start of the second half, like we were against Forest, and the opposition got momentum" we need to sort that s**t out asap, its not acceptable.
