  1. Looks like a rugby league kit. Yuck.
  2. Duran deserves plenty of patience. But I think a loan to the Championship would be a much better option for him than it would for Archer at their respective stages. Be interesting to see what Emery thinks though.
  3. This is the "other" version lion I was talking about in my post. Its still facing the same way our current one does, but again, it's still only 2 years that it faced that way. I discounted this one and went for the other one as this version has some glaring errors. But either way it does seem our original faced right for a very short time, and then never again. It's just not us really is it. Lion facing left please.
  4. Duran PL minutes came when Archer should have have been getting them so you can't include them in a comparison of who would have used them better. MLS is no better than championship quality, possibly worse, and Archer has looked better in the championship than Duran did in MLS. Those extra two years age and the familiarity Archer has with the English game comfortably give him the edge for me.
  5. According to this, and some others that have a different lion, our original one faced the same way as the new one, but only for a short time. Since then, it has always been the other way.
  6. Really?! I think Archer would have scored if he was given the number of minutes Duran had. Also probably would have got an assist.
  7. They're owned by totally different organisations apparently. And since they made that judgement, they've transferred around 20 players between the two clubs.
  8. Realistically, I'm in favour of multi club ownership being banned, regardless of the territory that club is in. Or maybe FIFA centrally banning transfers between any clubs owned by the same person. But given how the significance of this (maybe a few youth players get opportunities they wouldn't otherwise) pales in comparison to the law breaking activity than Man City did for decades, and Newcastle have already started with their inflated self-sponsorship deals... it just smacks of them trying to clamp down on the threats to the monopoly. How much are they being paid by the Qatar and Saudi governments to sweep their activity under the carpet. It's like their house is on fire and they're choosing to turn off a f##king light switch to stop it spreading. Pricks
  9. We're not owned by a government who they're in bed with about hosting sporting events with. There's no negative backlash for them if they harm us. Not the same if they take on government owned entities.
  10. No. There aren't any tigers in Africa... I thought you knew that.
  11. Bierhoff .. what a blast from the past. He's got a lot in him that you could pick from any number of great strikers of the past. Across his first team career to date, hes got 26 goals in 49 games worth of minutes. He's also got 8 assists. A goal involvement every 1.4 games. And only last season's appearances were at a club that was competing towards the top of its league. Really is time to see what he can do at the PL level. Hopefully with us.
  12. I'm not sure how building it behind the current one wouldn't be possible...there's enough room for two stands on that car park. Access was not an issue when other clubs have done this so strikes me as a bit of an odd excuse. That said, I'm sure they would take that approach if it was genuinely feasible. By having to re-route everything that currently goes through or under the North stand before we even start the 7 month lead time is understandable at least. And they've already sold tickets for this season so not like they could start any earlier anyway. Shame it's going to take so long, but anyone doubting the owners' intent needs to give their head a wobble.
  13. Lots of agreement here. Anyone here think he should go back out on loan? And I mean from now, rather than the crystal ball gazing for January.
  14. Yeah, I think my joke wasn't obvious enough. I don't want be sponsored by Mullered or have Lukes "Luke" badge as our logo. The kit itself is, as you say, "okay" but hardly ground breaking.
  15. Seriously...I wasn't being serious. Lighten up man
  16. That article sounds like it was written months ago. Are you sure thats not for the old plans including villa live? With what @OutByEaster?also said it does sound like it's was mentioned at the meeting last night though as well. Anyone there that can confirm how it was phrased?
  17. But we also have Duran in there. Who's a needless extra in the Archer mould. Sure he looks like he had potential to be a world beater, but it's a long way off and it's a conflict we have to manage at the moment. I feel like we need One more experienced head up front to be ideal.. Either a 30 something striker happy to play backup but proven to be capable playing every game with a respectable return if Watkins gets injured. Or a second striker signed to play the Bailey role, that could fill in if Watkins got injured. That is tricky for us because the system is quite niche and that kind of player is going to cost a lot of money whatever we sign. My preference is for the latter. Then in the unlikely event Watkins gets injured, the new SS goes to forward, and Bailey comes back in as SS. In the above scenario, Archer can be the preferred sub, and if he hits the ground running in the prem he becomes the new striker anyway, and then everyone else reverts back to their role as if Watkins was still leading the line. It's an unlikely scenario but I wouldn't want to be relying on Archer or Duran if Watkins got injured. They might be ok, but it's too big a gamble
  18. And it annoys every Leeds fan going. Thankfully I don't know any first hand but I'll get satisfaction knowing their fans aren't happy about it.
  19. Cheers both hadn't seen anyone here confirm that was the plan and hadn't read the mails version of events. Interesting sacrifice they're making there, and delaying 6 weeks for a foo fighters concert probably makes little difference.
  20. Why are people talking about 2 years? They haven't said its going to take 2 years have they?
  21. That's a lovely kit but that logo is bad. I get its an old logo they brought back for a one off, but it looks terrible.
  22. Do you think amazon will be able to make money out of it where BT couldn't?
  23. Returning from honeymoon on Sunday sounds way more logical. Romano full of shit clearly and now trying to pretend he said this all along. No way a millionaire was not having a two week honeymoon in probably the only window his career will let him have one. Still think we've got a bigger signing than Pau lined up.
  24. Presumably it brings more money than 3 home games would..? Unless they think they'll still complete it within the gap between end of 24/25 season and start of the next whether they start it straight away or not. Edit: i'n sure they said that it would take a year under the previous plans, don't think it would change now. I said 2 years if we were planning to do what someone proposed about us knocking down it all and building from scratch.
