  1. Better targets out there I think.
  2. Since Monday evening its been nothing but a small risotto and perhaps a few litre of vanilla custard. Had three wisdom teeth out and it seems the extraction has pulled any sensibility in regards to my dietary needs and what's good for me there.
  3. Im going to do a 180 on my stance regarding Bale and say that if he is available to us and we can get him for a suitable wage fee, I'd absolutely love him here. Even though we'd either be playing him as a CF or rotating him with one of a few who are going to need, and will command minutes for us next season. I'd be okay with any of it. He and Neymar were the two players I really thought would take over from the CR7 vs Messi era. Both enjoy immaculate and awe inspiring skill on their day. I don't think either Bale or Neymar had the same all important mental approach to the game however, even if they had the desire to be the next duo rivalling for the ballon d'or. Albeit for seemingly different reasons (that they didn't). If he wanted to, I wouldn't put it beyond him to have a proper shot at reinvigorating his play and having another go at being his best. I'd consider myself a fool to assume that. 32 you are still well and truly capable of peak powers.
  4. Agree with this. I remember his matches for Spurs against Inter in the UCL. Then he's move up the pitch to becoming a forward. Seems like a fairly happy go lucky type of guy but just seemed to be happy to bank the money and call it that.
  5. What do we make of the Gareth Bale link from the Birmingham Mail? I'm not so much interested in opinions on the source and link itself, but rather what we would think about signing Bale?
  6. Apologies if posted already. https://www.whoscored.com/Articles/KRnNQGE2E06uNUvXyO7f0Q/Show/Who-is-Boubacar-Kamara-Aston-Villas-most-important-summer-signing
  7. Well his contract is ending with Bayern, only featured fifteen odd times for them last season. Man utd, Arsenal and Newcastle all said to be interested. The press says he's considering an extension offer at Bayern now, but if he's looking at offers, why not us?
  8. Said it back in the championship, when people were pointing at his record with Swansea, Tammy was the kind of potential who could become world class. He's fulfilling that potential. For 70 million, as others have said, there'd be a few in the market we'd also be better for signing at that price. I love Tammy, always rated him in the highest footballing esteem, and his energy and desire was evident too. For that money though, the expectations for the team would rightfully be through the roof, and I wonder if it would be a bit too much too soon. Signing Suarez, even as a backup, begins to appeal. And if we were to get a decent fee for one of Ings or Ollie, and spend that combined with half of the fee wanted for Tammy on another striker, then I feel we'd be in good stead, and very easily better off.
  9. Placement and composure is still there. Mods: why is la liga blocking me from posting YouTube content on here? Specifically a video featuring all of Suarez's 25 goals for Atletico Madrid.
  10. After deciding this thread was no longer for me, I stumbled across this post. I'm afraid one sparrow doesn't make for a summer though and the forecast here seems to be bucketing poo on Grealish, and his family. I'd like to remind people of the outrage we felt when certain twitter posts about Jack's sister were being aired here. I think I might leave it at this, Jack still is a fan of this club, no matter how bitter and resentful some of us want to be towards him, he has made his feelings known that he is happy for our successes and wishes us well, albeit with a 'like' on social media. As much as I'm not proud to say, having my content liked by people has made me feel supported at times. His father wearing a shirt to support his sons success doesn't necessarily mean that he's no longer a villa supporter either. However if he frequents these boards and this thread specifically I wouldn't blame him for feeling a little bit like saying goodbye to the days of being a Villa fan. Thanks for the memories Grealish, you were and are one of the best in my mind.
  11. Good post, and read. I personally think it's more likely that it was considered too risky to change the dynamics of the midfield to include Sanson. As much as we like to say otherwise, none of our midfield three in JJ, Dougie and McGinn are poor midfielders. I think its the composition added by the tactical approach that causes issues. If I'm honest as much as I rate Sanson from an IQ, vision, and technical pov, I'm not entirely convinced I see him improving the dynamic on what we opted for week in week out already. We won't know until we see it given a go.
  12. Suarez was incredible when I last saw him play, which was for Liverpool. If we are signing 35 year olds, Cavani is still a great player.
  13. I think this is more consequence of those in management and decision making higher up than Gerrard, and that will hold us in great shape for a time to come.
  14. Great post. We share similar views, and its nice to see a sum of thoughts that acknowledge how gifted and skilled a player we have on our hands.
  15. Immaculate skill on the ball on his day. Thats yet to come around for us just yet, but some of the impatience and criticism from our fans doesn't fly for me, for no other reason that if you watch him play in the Bundesliga, you understand we have a potentially WC player to develop and integrate.
  16. This is one I'm not enthusiastic about.
  17. Would like to keep him on. Said it since his arrival I thought he'd eventually earn a place as a starter, and perhaps at the cost of players who I rate highly. Can't really understand why we didn't see more of him, but perhaps it wasn't down to him being thought of as lacking in any area, and more that the manager wanted as much consistency as possible in midfield, so that he could deal with the conundrum of selecting who will play forward of them. Bailey, Coutinho, Watkins, Ings, Buendia, Traore all good options to pick from. Still wanted to see more of Sanson, and I hope we do yet
  18. Apologies if already posted. If you care about the future, or even have a mild interest in it, I think this is worth your time of day. 'The Social Dilemma'
  19. What I'm saying is that in war, we don't always find out as much as we like to think we do from the authorities and officials that represent us. We are always at war, the USA has spent 93% of its history at war. You might think we are privy to the most advanced means to engage in warfare, or the most current and accurate inside information on offer, provided by our benevolent and impartial media outlets, whether you do or you don't, I'm saying we aren't. Why do you think Julian Assange is in the situation he is in? Please let's not focus on my views regarding Germany, where that country is at, and how it came to be, I don't profess to have enough information or credibility to speak for it. I was using their situation and what I have been exposed to in regards to it, to illustrate the point that we don't really know everything that's going on. Edit: I will track down the French intelligence documents eventually.
  20. @limpid @chrisp65 @mjmooney https://glwdocuments.wordpress.com/1944/11/27/the-red-house-report-07-nov-1944/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1179902/Revealed-The-secret-report-shows-Nazis-planned-Fourth-Reich--EU.html https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_House_Report That should suffice until I can post copies of the actual documents.
