Surely the owners has to look at what Howe has managed to achieve at Newcastle in a relatively short space of time and come to the obvious conclusion that Gerrard is not the man. Well my gut feeling is telling me they already are but Purslow is defending his pal to the hilt.

We have flip flopped from buying young talented players with resell value to the complete opposite under Gerrard. The club got no plan.

Gerd Muller has most goals per game and was like Haaland. Yet Cruyff is rated higher in that era. Messi can score just like Haaland and can also playmake like de Bruyne. Sometimes he does all that in one move. Pass, create space, dribble and run and score himself. I love Haaland and love the fact he is from my country but let's not compare him to Messi. We will never see anyone like Messi ever again.

I think he is fully prepared to go down with the Gerrard ship. If Gerrard is sacked it will be the owners decision not Purslow.

R9 is a completely different striker. Not at all what you would call a box striker.

Ronaldo at that age was more of a winger. Messi more of a playmaker. Different players. Compare him to other box strikers like Shearer, Nistelrooy etc

Just isn't a very intelligent footballer. Just like Traore he is able to pull off flashes of brilliance but his decision making is atrocious. Playing him ahead of Buendia is absolutely criminal by Gerrard
