  1. In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary, come again? DDG isn't even the best keeper at United IMO. Leno and Alisson seem to be the best all round keepers from last season, EM is right up there with them.
  2. Only PL games are under consideration. I think Ancelotti got it because he won 4 out of 4 including Spurs compared to Dean's 2 out of 2.
  3. Quotes from Bielsa last night: "Given how the game went we thought we did enough to create a lead," Bielsa said. "When an offensive team does not take their chances, the opposing team senses this and starts to grow in confidence." I don't recall any significant chances to create this lead he's talking about. They had a lot of the ball and put some crosses in, but mainly just seemed to tire themselves out without much threat.
  4. Gabby is just on the wind up, Leeds are clearly well drilled. They don't seem particularly good at preventing teams from getting chances against them though.
  5. The commentator on my stream was all but strumming himself over their 1-1 draw with Citeh. "Enchanting". Not before the watershed mate.
  6. Rumour has it that his knee is fine really, it's actually just the twisted blood Grealish gave him that will keep him out for the season
  7. Yeah that was it, just long hoofs. Our midfield never turned and carried the ball through their lines to break the press, we never forced them down one wing and switched the ball to exploit their overload once we turned possession over. I know it's hard to admit you're wrong when you go absolutely all in on an opinion (I was certain Kane's initial form for Spurs was a purple patch for example) but it makes you look silly and erodes any chance of regaining credibility when you decide to die on that hill. We tactically destroyed Liverpool in a way which nobody has done before. It's okay to admit it.
  8. Yes please He's raised the bar so high for himself that I was absolutely shocked when he gave the ball away that one time
  9. First time we've won the opening 4 since 1930. Dean Smith eats records for breakfast
  10. Castagne is a threat and Wesley Fofana is very impressive. Only other match I've seen of him was against PSG last month and he handled Neymar and Mbappe as well as he's handling our forwards.
  11. Okore limped off when he did his ACL from what I remember
  12. I think the only bit anybody could have a problem with re. Mings was saying to trust Southgate. Obviously we shouldn't trust Southgate because he's a **** useless word removed but I understand why he said that. He needs GS sweet so he gets picked. Smith is under no such restrictions.
  13. He was actually only credited with 4 and there were question marks over whether he even touched one of the 4 Looks like a Kolasinac OG to me. 3 in 13 for that joke of a side was still not bad though
  14. Their account balance is, to put it simply, red.
  15. Is he likely to score 10 goals though if he doesn't take penalties? 13 non-penalty goals in 43 appearances last season. I think he's potentially an okay buy but he doesn't look like enough to save them.
  16. He's made 34% of his career appearances at CF, that's a reasonable proportion really. Also, while it is a small sample size, he's played 369 minutes at CF against PL opposition (either in the PL for Chelsea or in Europe for Lyon) and he scored 4 goals. Goal every 92 minutes. Noice.
  17. Apologies if this is old news but I've just seen Elmo's gif from Amazon Prime and it's a cracker 95% of the others I've seen have been shitty nods or fist pumps but this legend just breaks these moves out. I was on the fence over who I'd prefer as RB cover but this has settled it.
  18. Definitely a shitbag negotiation tactic from Sullivan and Gold. Brentford won't fall for it.
  19. Oof. Is that not their entire first team except for Zaha and Milovojevic?
  20. I've seen him suggest it a few times tbf, here's the on pitch interview from Wednesday. At 0:52, he starts claiming the players are improving and learning after working with him for 10 days. I would be embarrassed on his behalf of he wasn't such a word removed.
  21. Depending on the FA the managers job can be more like a political post than a coaching role. Southgate was a political appointment after the Big Sam scandal but he's such a muppet that he thinks he's there for his coaching acumen. In his post match interview yesterday he was talking about how the players had all learned and improved technically and tactically over this international break. As if a squad of elite and world class players who are coached by elite/world class managers 90% of the time would improve after working with the worst Middlesbrough manager of the last 30 years for a week and a half. Hopefully Mings and Grealish haven't regressed too much
  22. Yeah but then what will they use the remaining £29.8m for?
  23. He's back in the country now, hopefully the fact that our game is late and on Sunday will minimise the effect of any jetlag he's feeling from flying so far east to get back here
  24. In a way, if it is a personal vendetta and not purely down to Southgate being shit at his job, Grealish is quite lucky Southgate also happens to be as shit as they come. Laporte, Martial, Benzema all missed out on winner's medals (despite being good enough to get in the squad) for various reasons. If England had any manager who wasn't completely shit there would be a non-zero chance of that happening to Grealish.
  25. How do they have so little up front? Is it just a case of waiting and hoping for Troy Parrott to live up to the hype at this point?
