  1. I think most of my arrogance as a Villa fan comes from Villa winning the European Cup which I shoe horn into conversations with Blues fans as often as is possible. It's always done tongue in cheek but I'm probably not a good example because I love when people overly talk up their own clubs, that's the whole point of being a fan as far as I'm concerned. If I was a Leeds fan I would never stop banging on about the EC that Bayern cheated you out of. I love that Leeds fans are very confident, it makes for more fun discussions. Especially after they've been so shit for so long. My only real problem with Leeds is the media's narrative they've almost let get out of hand that Bielsa is an untouchable genius beyond what any lowly regular coach could even comprehend. It was a bit tedious at first but now it's verging on Poe's law territory. Multiple unrelated sources have given him credit for our win against Liverpool despite the fact that, as I've already mentioned, Leeds used a completely different gameplan and got outclassed and were lucky to only lose by one goal.
  2. This nickname is so bad that I couldn't help but read it in the voice of Boyle from Brooklyn 99
  3. Strongly disagree, Watford absolutely took them to the cleaners last season (before being relegated I might add) when they were still trying to go undefeated and hadn't even clinched the title yet. We got closer to beating them last season than you did this season as well. That game was far more similar to our game plan against them than when Leeds lost to them a few weeks ago. You fluked 3 goals from 0.27 xG, we scored 7 from 3.08 xG. Edit - I don't want to sound overly harsh, I think Bielsa is very impressive and has done a great job. But I don't think he's actually as famous as has been made out in this thread, he's not Ancelotti. Before last season most armchair PL fans wouldn't have been able to pick him out of a line up of 2. The media have just got into a frenzy over not wanting to be the one who didn't know who Bielsa was pretty much just because Pep loves him so much IMO. Also, Leeds were excellent against Man City and deserved to win but Liverpool shut you out except for 3 unlikely goals.
  4. So is everyone on Romano's prediction list from this morning confirmed now? Do that mean it's our turn now?
  5. The week after they'd been absolutely pumped by Leicester. I wonder if Leeds were inspired by Brendan Rodgers
  6. It's landing at Newquay Airport. Has uncle Nassef or Uncle Wes got any property round there?
  7. That plane is landing! Altitude below 5000ft and dropping
  8. The Rashica departure will be officially announced by Werder shortly. Anything other than the Leverkusen address would meanwhile be a surprise. How much fee #Werder will be collected is still unclear.
  9. They're only sating he "could" join Leverkusen apparently
  10. That plane isn't flying to London, it's already past London. Looks to me like it's flying to Southampton. Which is worse!
  11. Was Barkley's loan free then? I assumed we paid some kind of loan fee but possibly not.
  12. It's people wearing knee high socks running around kicking a ball in a net, none of it 'matters'. Fans of things want those things to be acknowledged, that is a well observed phenomenon in every field. That's the thing, I don't think Leeds is actually that exciting of a story. If they were managed by a local guy called Dave Johnson nobody would bat an eye. Villa staying up on the last day after signing a whole new team was more of a click generator than Leeds cantering to a good but not exceptional Championship points total, IMO of course. This is the funniest bit, Leeds did lose to Liverpool and somehow Bielsa got more praise for his amazing game plan than Villa and Smith did for completely dismantling their defensive system and taking them for 7.
  13. You don't know why fans of a football club want the manager of their club to receive what they perceive to be due credit in the media coverage? Bielsa is obviously a widely respected manager but the praise he receives has become almost a running joke. Someone in the punditry thread said this morning TalkSport were questioning whether Villa's win was inspired by Bielsa's Leeds I can't even type that out without giggling, it's just so funny.
  14. Absolutely fantastic. That has properly creased me, this must be the final iteration of the meme. Bielsa is such a genius that Villa smashed Liverpool 7-2. Is there no end to his talents?
  15. With the optajoe post directly below and the one word last sentence I read this like one of their tweets.
  16. Andy Johnson used to do it years ago, it was for a charity he started with some other players called A Star that helps vulnerable kids. At the time loads of players did it but its the first time I've seen anyone do it for a while.
  17. This pose format is flawed. What's he going to do when he scores 6 in a game?
  18. I'm still 50/50 on Smith. 50% of me thinks he should be made king of England and 50% thinks he should be President of Earth
  19. Should've had 5 and I have no doubt he will be working hard every day in training to make sure next time he will. What a player
  20. Not many really good chances though. Usually City have Jesus in the 6 yard box missing 3 sitters per game, this week I can't really think of a sitter they missed. I think Bamford missed more.
  21. To be fair he's scored two pens, neither of which he won and two back post tap ins. Over the course of the season Watkins will get and score those types of chances without doubt.
  22. The first 3 games I thought they got a bit lucky, especially with the number of goals they scored but I actually think they were unlucky not to win yesterday.
  23. If nothing else his altercation with Drinkwater helped our team by hastening DD getting dropped. Thanks Jota!
