  1. I for one cannot wait to see Mr Cholmondley-Warner make it in to the first team.
  2. Oh don't get me wrong. I love a good headed goal. It's just I think that it needs to be looked at. At the end of the day, the health of the players is more important. Anyway, we're straying well off topic so hopefully we get back to a bit of form before Wes' introduction so that he can have a proper run in a team performing well so we can finally put to bed the debate whether he's any good or not.
  3. I honestly wasn't expecting an answer to that. It was meant as very tongue in cheek. Your response though got me thinking... Will heading in football be viewed similary (should never have happened.....but it did) in a few decades? Especially from the time that the evidence has become available, say from 2015 onwards or so. I can understand giving football a pass up until then but now, it really needs to be taking action or at least doing extensive research in to the subejct.
  4. He did a nice Trezeguet nutmeg as well.
  5. Looks like Lyle Lanley paid a visit to Liverpool city council
  6. I heard him being described by someone as a useful idiot. They know he's liable to shoot his mouth off so the likes of Rummenige and Perez and so on use him to put these outlandish ideas out in to the public domain. Everyone gets all up in arms about it. What is then agreed in the end is then not as extreme as the initial suggestion. The big clubs then get what they wanted all along with everybody else thinking "phew, at least they didn't get what they really wanted". It's not the idiots spouting all manners of shit that you need to be worried about, it's the ones in the background but who still have substantial power who stay quiet on the matter. On a side note wasn't it wonderful that Agnelli came out with his proposals and within 48 hours his club had been knocked out of the champions league against a team which in his opinion more or less don't deserve to be in the competition.
  7. All this talk of scrapping FFP and it being a free for all regarding clubs spending I think is way off the mark. It will be for some clubs, however the clubs are still companies who will have creditors to pay, ensure that they can pay for electricity and water, pay their staff on time, essentially run the business without it going bust. Administration was never a result of FFP. It is a threat for all companies who spend beyond their means. We are very lucky in that our owners have very deep pockets and that the club is being run very efficiently. We are one of a few clubs who could benefit from relaxation in the rules.
  8. I think we do. Assuming we are talking about 4 attacking players, Wes being one and ignoring formations. We could have a 3 from Watkins, Grealish, Traore and Barkley (should he ever find form again) up there with him. That's better than El Ghazi, Trez and Grealish from last season, and that's not considering Grealish playing CM sometimes last season. However the big problem from where I am looking at it is, should he come into a team playing like we have in the last couple of weeks then he will struggle. He will again be isolated and balls hoofed up to him with the nearest player 40 yards away and no urgency to get up and help him. Had he come in to a team playing like we did in the first half of the season then he would of course look better. The way we are playing at the moment Lewandowski would struggle up front for us.
  9. A Jamaican, a couple of Brazilians. Villa will be party central.
  10. I like the thought that you have an "utter bollocks" file
  11. 45 mins for Wes today in a behind closed doors friendly against West Brom. Great to see. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/march/Wesley-steps-up-recovery/
  12. At least we'll always have that goal against Atletico.
  13. The question is will the breakaway end up more like Joey or Frasier?
  14. Smothered in brown sauce. The forriners love the brown sauce.
  15. It's the haute-cuisine that they really move for.
  16. Nicolo Zaniolo would be a dream, left footed, not too dissimilar to Jack from the limited times that I've seen him. A couple of inches taller and built like a brick shithouse. Still very skillful, good dribbling ability and only 21 years of age. Not very likely as he plays for Roma. He's also currently recovering from a ruptured cruciate. All in all, a bit of a pipe dream
  17. Well I mean if they are to somehow accomodate Barca then they can't make it too restrictive unless they somehow reduce their wage bill before any system is put in place.
