  1. It's worked on me. I'm walking zombie-like around the office, eyes glazed over chanting "Today's the day to celebrate, the foe have met their fate..."
  2. With potentially 3 clubs under his belt by the age of 17, he's certainly had a nomadic 'Bedeau-in' career so far.
  3. I hope you've got a job lot of Um Bongo in.
  4. I re(a)d Leicester had made a late bid for him?
  5. Hate is a strong word. Most of the time when abuse is dished out to an individual it's just part and parcel of the banter of the game, and in particular when they are a player or manager of SHA. Robbie Savage is an exception, he was and still is a grade A word removed. I'm only in my 40s so never got to see Hitler play, although I hear he was a no nonsense right winger.
  6. Well it's early days but already Bruce is beginning to turn this previously rudderless ship around. You build from the back and already he's eliminated that inevitable late collapse, the Gollini clanger, the midfield being completely overrun each game. I hope that the doubters will cut him a bit of slack now - he's made as good a start as any of us could have wished for.
  7. My thoughts: 1. At the time of RDM's appointment, having just got Hull promoted he didn't appear a realistic option. Had we approached Hull though, I don't think that would have been laughable 2. Why wouldn't any employer go for experience or track record over taking a chance on a younger candidate? 3. Let's just focus on getting out of this division - something Bruce has a good track record of 4. I just don't get the Blues thing. I really don't give a flying **** about that. If he gets us promoted I don't care if he's been a member of IS or if he's shagged my old dear - just as long as he gets us up.
  8. If you Play Your Cards Right, you might just get that refund.
  9. I reckon it's down to Bruce vs Grayson. The Generation Game play off final.
  10. I'd agree that Bruce isn't the most inspiring option but to be honest I'd just like to get rid of that crushing feeling of despair and misery that I feel every game, and to stop us being a complete laughing stock circus of a club. I think Bruce would address that. Inspiration can come later.
  11. Not sure about you, but if I did that it would guarantee that Steve Bruce would be appointed manager within minutes.
  12. You're clearly not a gluten for punishment.
  13. Fear not, I suspect Mr Potato Head is very thick skinned.
  14. I know people are saying let's not go for someone just because they are available, but for me Bruce would have been one of the more obvious, if uninspiring choices even if he were still at Hull. Couldn't give a flying **** that he's managed Blues before. Or that he looks like a potato. Got the right credentials and CV for the immediate task ahead and will turn us into an organised outfit. Just do it.
  15. I was a late starter in going to games as my dad was an armchair fan. When I did finally go, my first match was a baptism of fire in the local derby away at St Andrews in December 1987. Villa won 2-1 with Garry Thompson netting both. The atmosphere was unbelievable - complete mutual hatred and hostility with the sound of police dogs and helicopters everywhere. The away end was so overcrowded there was a real danger of crush injuries. Brilliant first match. I was hooked from that day. Two of the starting 11 that day, Paul Birch and Bernie Gallacher are sadly no longer with us.
  16. Limited and maybe only able to cut it at a certain level - yes. But at Championship level, absolutely awful is harsh.
  17. In the mad flurry of transfer activity this window, I must have missed him.
  18. There were some serious doubters when the takeover was announced but Big Tone has truly put his money where his mouth is. Imagine what next transfer window will be like if we get promoted. All hail Tony Xia.
