  1. As a manager coming into a new job with a massive task on, where exactly do you even begin, I imagine most players are off on their holidays, so there's no one to really talk to regards contract terminations etc, and no one to train or implement systems etc. What do you actually do? I guess you wait for takeover to happen, then finalise any deals you've set up? I've literally no clue what a manager does in pre-season mid takeover limbo.
  2. This is the thing, clearly at some point these players were highly rated, wtf happened to them?!
  3. Sure there's some people out there who thought the same about Villa the season we finished 9th.
  4. Stranger things have happened in football, AMC as an example, who honestly thought that would ever have happened! As much as it's unlikely, wouldn't it be great to re-sign him.
  5. Is it even possible to go down quicker then Villa did?
  6. Bamford and Ings wouldn't be the worst signings, encouraging rumours, even if that's all they turn out to be.
  7. Thing is, last seasons shite will probably do well in the championship, look at Gestede as an example.
  8. When does his contract expire? Possibly the most disappointing signing in my memory, I mean Balaban was bad, but I had no expectation from him, however with Nzogbia, having seen him single handed keep Wigan up with some great goals, I genuinely thought we had signed a top player and pulled off a coup.
  9. It's one of those dream appointments you wish your club makes as a fan.
  10. Are Liverpool actually interested in signing him or is it just paper talk? I mean he seemed like he "could" be a top player, but would Liverpool take that gamble on a player whose got a serious injury?
  11. Personally I don't think he was given a chance to really prove his quality, every time I saw him I felt like something could happen, and given the season we just had that's some good going by the lad. Think it was only him and Hutton who even bothered crossing the ball last season and the less said about Huttons crossing the better.
  12. Premier league title in 2018.... Well why the hell not! LETS DO THIS!
  13. Yes! Great appointment, and one that hadn't even crossed my mind originally.
  14. Don't, you know some on here will go into meltdown
  15. So if we have money and Adama does have such potential, do you think we will keep hold of him now? I hope so, in the few glimpses we actually got to see of him last season, he looked like he could create something out of nothing
  16. Anyone else fed up of hearing from the Daily Mail?
  17. Scare mongering is all, supporters of other clubs would love to see this fall through. Aston Villa wil be back in the top division within a few years, let's all just keep the faith and enjoy the next few years, it's been awhile!
  18. Seriously guys, if it is RDM that has agreed to become manager if Dr Tony passes the fit and proper test, then he will be appointed once the takeover is officially confirmed im sure RDM is doing preliminary work etc, he will want to get things in place asap, literally no need to panic, unless the takeover falls through, but until then, everything's probably going as planned for RDM and Dr Tony.
  19. Just out of curiosity, what difficulty do you guys play this on?
  20. Fully agree with this. Seriously what are some of you thinking, who could we get? We are a championship club now. RDM could even be seen as a coup for us. In his short managerial career he has achieved more then all of the other realistic targets, he will have good contacts throughout the game, I honestly think this is a very smart appointment on many levels.
  21. I'm not disputing that the Derby squad might be better then ours, I'm just wondering should it be, we have quite a few internationals and former internationals in the squad, what's happened to them collectively as a group to make them so bad? surely on paper the Villa squad is better?
  22. Actually think this could be the best appointment we have made in over ten years, he's certainly a well decorated manager which cannot be denied. He's young, managed at the highest level, will have money to burn (supposedly), and if he balls up, he'll probably get sacked sharpish, don't think the Dr will tolerate failure.
  23. I think he thinks if he can make a success of Villa then not only could he make billions in return if Aston Villa were to become the biggest English or European team in China, but it could as seen already, bump up the share prices in his other business's, thus making Recon an absolute fortune, all within his ten year plan.
