Even if he only plays a few games.... super sub if you like... maybe a few cup matches while we are concentrating on league games.... you cannot underestimate 2 things 1. He has more bottle than the entire current squad put together. 2. He is the last player we've had that comes close to a villa legend. He plays one season, we get back up, he retires and becomes full time coach. If he isn't up to it we dont play him but even his influence around the club would help... We are in the championship now, we cannot get in 25 new players for next season. A reasonably fit Petrov gets in ahead of quite a few muppets in the current team.

Just hire Pearson ffs then we can sack him in December and do this all over again.

So its over.... im glad, time to look forward and put this recent past behind us.

Terrible comparison

Agree with a few posts on here about getting behind the new gaffer no matter who it is. With all due respect comments such as 'if so and so gets the job then im done with villa' make me question your love for the club. Reality is if we are top of the table at xmas everyone with love the new manager and all these comments will be forgotten. I cant work out who I want as manager all I know is I will get behind them whether I like them or not. Hopefully a year from now we are discussing our imminent return to the top flight.

To clarify myself. I dont rate him now... we need a confident manager and Moyes would be about as confident as Westwood is passing forward.

Moyes will want a 'safe' job next not a challenge, he gets the ass again and he is damaged goods. I just dont rate him and that's just my opinion.

Moyes is a toss who thinks he is too good for us. Off the list straight away. We dont want players who see us a stepping stone and definitely dont want managers who think they're too good for us. Never been a fan so Im quite happy with him not 'being interested'
