  1. Morrison is some **** tease. Not only did he follow villa on Twitter a few days back he's now following Gollini :-/ we are either very close or he's just having a bit of fun with us all.
  2. You's reckon he starts Sunday ? I'd hope so. He's had a full pre season behind him with Fulham. Throw him straight in imo.
  3. Absolute nonsense. He's a credible target along with Hutton, not an easy one as you suggest. If we start with these two we are in trouble.
  4. Look he's a nice guy but is simply not good enough nor is there much room for improvement with him. He just doesn't impact a game. At all ! I swear the saying " he keeps it tidy " is a British thing. We want footballers, not road sweepers. Total lack of bravery on and off the ball. His immediate response when getting the ball is to just give it again straight away.
  5. RDM seems to like him. Makes Beye look like Cafu. Remain hopeful we'll bring a right back in.
  6. I can guarantee you that if we approach this season and start hutton and westwood and justify it with "they'll be ok for the championship" mentality that Aston Villa will remain a championship club next may. Not being a pessimist but I'm too pissed off to forget the shambles that was last season. 16 points, 16 **** points lads!! No these guys need to leave our club or at least not start. They will contribute nothing, telling us.
  7. Totally agree on Hutton. Going forward it's just the same repetitive, generic stuff from him which ultimately goes nowhere. Gana, as always enthusiastic but that man cannot tackle. Andre Green is a talent.
  8. Question. If based on what we've seen from both so far and it was a choice to start traore or green down the right who would you go with ?. I'd have to go with Green. Both deliver end product in their own ways but Traore is more liable to put his own team in dangerous situations. Green, although he shows the ability to beat a man, won't try and go past the next 5 after him either which is sensible of course.
  9. Ballsy from Tone though he does look a tad naive. If we lose amavi and ayew he gives the villa fans the chance to hammer him where as if he kept quiet and we lost one of both nobody would say a word to him about it. Hmmm. We clearly don't need to sell though by the sounds of it, which is encouraging.
  10. Morrison is ridiculously talented. If there's a chance it could happen we should go for it. His attitude is questionable yes but sure you take a risk on every player to a degree, whether he flops on the pitch or is a messer off it. For what it's worth he's now following us on twitter.
  11. Stan Petrov is an absolute legend of this club plus a great man all round. However, this is the correct decision. There isn't any room for sentiment at top level sport. He embodies everything that i want villa to represent in the future. Honesty, genuineness in effort.
  12. Granted it was only telford but he absolutely tore them asunder. He created endless amount of chances for that donkey gestede. He has end product to his game, has Grealish even showed that in his game yet ? Thought green looked good also against Swansea when he came on last year.
  13. Be nice to see him do things just a tad quicker too. His build up play can be quite slow and ineffective at times, he'll throw a lot of shapes then just end up passing it backwards to a team mate. He's a real talent. Needs to kick on and deliver this year.
  14. I don't think "having" to keep a player like gana in the championship is necessarily a bad thing.
  15. Reading fans seem to rate him highly. Competion is always healthy. Great to see Bennett perform the way he did yesterday. In my opinion in any team sport the jersey belongs to the fella who performs in training and match day. Can't be any other way. If come August 9th we have Tshibola, Gana, Gardner, Westwood and Sanchez vying for essentially two positions that's not a problem imo, it's healthy. Let them go at it training, who wants it more gets it. Same with Bennett and Amavi, shouldn't be assumed Amavi will nail down the position.

    Joe Bennett

If he bulks up a bit he might be useful. Big league, need a decent squad.
  17. Thing i don't like about these games against piss poor amateur sides, Richards scores to put us one up and RDM might be thinking yeah I'll give him a chance. He was woeful last year.
  18. Although it may be unspectacular, we are building properly at the moment. Gollini and Elphick are two very sensible signings, the word sensible and villa haven't appeared alongside each other in years so I'm fine with that. I don't know enough about Tshibola to comment on him. Although he puts in a shift, I'd hope RDM sees Hutton for the defensive and attacking liability that he is. Westwood the same. With a few more additions we aren't far away from being very competitive in this league.
  19. With Lewis Cook joining them, Bournemouth are heavily stacked in midfield . Can't all get a game. I'd take any from arter, surman, gosling or o'kane in a heartbeat. They have the innate ability to pass a ball to a teammate with accuracy. !!
  20. Was at a stadium tour at the club on Monday. Speaking to the tour guide, asked her about Tom Fox . She said and I'm paraphrasing, very cold man, wouldn't greet or speak to staff. Wyness she said is pretty much at the stadium Mon-Fri between there and bodymor which is 8 miles away. Very chatty, likeable guy was her words. Ps: She said WBA are in for Clark.
  21. He's a funny one. I thought he was class at Dean Court last year on the opening day of the season. Never stopped working, plus his distribution was good. Utd the following week he was the best player on the pitch for a half hour then he just gassed, and his season was mostly made up of games like that. You'd have to wonder how he'd handle the the rigors of the championship with a 46 game season and then some. In terms of his ability on the ball he'd be an asset for us next year IF he can stand up to it.
  22. Re his honeymoon : " When a club like Villa comes calling the least you can do is give up 5 days of your honeymoon to talk to them " What a refreshing bloke. To be fair lot of the Bournemouth lads come across like that, very humble, hard workers. More of this please. Let's go back to Bournemouth now and take O'Kane off them. He won't start there next year. Cracking midfielder, wasted on the bench.
  23. Maybe barca and their coaches knew an awful lot more than we or Reilly did. Didn't sell Halilovic did they. Adama is fast but he has sooooo much to work on to become a team player it's frightening, and when you consider he was in a structure from 9 years of age that place massive emphasis on passing football. They couldn't do a thing with him.
  24. Fair play to di matteo. Elphick at 3 million is a solid piece of business. Can only go on what we've seen recent years and he looks a solid and competent CB, better than anyone we have at present.
  25. We don't. People react like we are going into the champions league. We have a core group that are absolute toxic. Lescott, Gabby, Richards need removing from that dressing room. We have some talent, Grealish, Ayew, Gana, Amavi ( if we can keep them) We need to add 5-6 I'd say.
