Ben Osborn would be a fantastic piece of business if we could get him imo. Technically sound, high work rate. Seems to of fallen out of favour with karanka. -
Needs to show a bit more appetite to work when we don't have the ball. Didn't look to have the stomach for it last night.

Perceived talent being the operative word. I think this notion that Villa have one of the most talented squads in the championship is an absolute myth. We have players with big reputations maybe but as footballers the majority are winging it. If the sporting director/head coach model is going to work we must be very very patient. This squad is nowhere need what Smith needs/wants.

I don't think they'll start games yet but i agree definetely need to be in the squad now. Thought doyle-hayes was like a rabbit stuck in headlights against yeovil. But the age profile of the squad needs to be lowered to play the football we want to play.

He's too slow at shifting the ball between feet and his passing is so telegraphed. Can see it coming a mile off.

He's young. Will suit a high press that you want from your attackers. Technically tidy on the ball. Why not ?

But what did u expect though honestly ? We are so poor on the ball at times. The man doesn't have a magic wand. This time last year Norwich fans were giving out about farke. Look at them now.

I said it prior to him taking over and I'll say it again. Hourihane isn't good enough. Whelan not good enough. Technically on the ball, Smith isn't going to improve them at their age. Tuanzebe was villa's best players. I don't think Norwich were particularly much fitter than us but the age profile of their team was much younger and their technique and thinking sharper. I'd be pulling o'hare from the u23s and bring him Friday night.

Smith rotated lots at Brentford, winning sides at that. Friday night is a quick turnaround too. He places a big emphasis on the squad.

We've been horrible at carrow road for years now. I think we will be grounded despite the win because along with Boro, Norwich probably the form team in the league right now. Be as tough one this.

We can hardly be surprised. He isn't going to make the guys who are not great on a technical level better at their age. Shape looks better. He'll need a good while to really put his mark on this team.

Ask any villa fan and they'll be unanimous in that we sold Davis too early. Fantastic player.

Matters nothing though to UK fight fans though. Hearn has signed an 8 year deal with DAZN to show all matchroom content in the states on their app. He's also signed a multi year deal with Sky sports . What it basically means is that DAZN won't be available in the UK any time soon. We will still have to pay for hearns overpriced ppvs here . US fight fans win massively.

Spence might end up fighting Mikey Garcia next if talk is to be believed. That would be massively competitive if Garcia weren't jumping up 2 weight divisions. Spence should deal with him. I can't see lomachenko going further than light welter personally. Linares dropped him with a handy shot in his last fight. He is crazy talented but still.

Fighting fielding in December ( rare for canelo to fight in December). Then over the course of the next 5 years he will presumably fight May 5th weekend ( cinco de mayo) and Mexican independence weekend which is mid Sept sometime like he did Golovkin this year . 11 fights in 5 years. Staggering deal for canelo and golden boy. This DAZN must have some serious coin...p.s only found out their is a boxing forum here today !!!

At villa yes i agree. But he's scored loads at the club our new manager was at. Smith won't play young fellas for the sake of it either. RHM will benefit greatly from Smith's coaching but he needs to start showing more too on his end.
