  1. Still flying it. The guy scores goals everywhere he goes.
  2. But it’s not a bullshit point. Don’t be an expert after the event is all im saying. Were every one of these players aware pre tournament that games scheduled for a night session would play to a finish ? Yes . It’s Australia mid summer FFS, floodlight and not gonna get rained off. If you are armed with all of this knowledge pre tournament, knowing that it has the potential to happen and knowing his body and it’s limitations and where he’s at - don’t cry foul then. Can’t have it every way.
  3. Nobody is forcing Andy Murray to play tennis. He’s not on the breadline. He won’t be signing on Monday morning. They’ve played night sessions in Melbourne for years as a result of PLAYERS complaining about the heat during the day. No match ever ran as late as 4 am. If Andy has problems with such things then he needs to control the controlables. Stop getting involved in gruelling 5 setters and get off court quicker.
  4. This is PPV and Beterbiev - Yarde is on BT Sport next week. Let that sink in.
  5. Hope that’s Eubank done. Like Gerrard and Lampard getting top jobs when they didn’t deserve it. He had a leg up from day one.
  6. Eubank by stoppage if he fights to his strengths. Go forward, punch output. He needs to stop trying to fight like Jones, i know he trains him, but he looks awkward when he tries to box too much. Not natural to him. Needs to fight like he did vs Yildrim and Blackwell and DeGale fights.
  7. It’s off again i read. Suppose to be March 4th. Taylor injured. The collateral damage that “ loss “ had for Catterall has been immense. Should have 4 belts and be set up for life. Now he’s waiting on a rematch with Taylor over a year for 1 belt. The bugging thing ? Fight wasn’t even close.
  8. And find out who’s his best mate’s best mate is and bring him too - just to be really on top of it !
  9. In classic Villa ( the only way we know how ) we aren’t the club that buys him for peanuts from Getafe and realise he isn’t at this level. No, we are the club who spend a fortune buying him from the club who bought him for peanuts.
  10. I think Emery is getting him to calm down a bit more when he receives the ball. Under Smith and Gerrard he just took off the minute he got the ball at high speed and more often than not, ran down blind alleys. He’s passing it a more ( nice passing range too ) and seeing that everything doesn’t have to be 100 miles an hour.
  11. When you’ve to nit pick to “ find “ essentially the good things he did/does , you know he ain’t that good - and he isn’t. Since day 1 the overriding issue is still a problem and will continue to be - he’s too weak physically and still backs himself to take a ball into a ruck and to come out with it, gets turned over and puts us on the back foot.
  12. A little bit herky jerky on the ball, it doesn’t seem to be sitting down for him and it’s obviously a step up pace wise. Impressed with the forward positions he gets into and his low crosses into the box

    Unai Emery

Had clearly told Bouba today that he had to hound Ward - Prowse when we were out of possession which he did brilliantly. Always a great sign when the opposition player is complaining to the referee.
  14. Thought we nicked the Leeds win. Today ? Nah, we dominated the ball, by far the better team. Why are getting hung up about the VAR call, that’s their job. We shouldn’t feel guilty that we were on the right side of it. I remember Watkins debut season with us he had like 5-6 what looked like good goals, chalked off.
  15. You just know right well they are going to encounter some knob outside the ground who’s “ I’m in a public place, im allowed to fly my drone in a public place “
  16. Bailey playing really well. Kamara snapping at Ward - Prowse. Love it.
  17. We are entering a strange stage in male tennis. Roger gone, Rafa is beaten down and on his last legs. Djokovic will probably be here for a while yet. We’ll never see the like again. I think you will see the grandslams become scattered around without no real dominance. Alcaraz, Rune, Tsitsipas, Sinner, Alliasime will likely be the future.
  18. Before the issues with these crazy long night finishes i also remember years ago lots of players pulling out of the tournament through heat exhaustion from the day sessions so what can they do . How long does Australia’s summer last ? What’s in like in February ? Moving it probably not an option, the ATP and WTA have huge contracts signed with sponsors for all those tournaments between the slams.
  19. The coach thing should not be that difficult and Radacanu’s problems in nailing one down, and how public the whole thing is - is kinda worrying. Williams sisters, Nadal, Federer, Djokovic its seamless when they have or change a coach. No noise. It’s a massively magnified issue with Radacanu though. I’m not sure she is as good as people want her to be or think she is. She got quite a favourable draw when she won it ( still won it, fair play to her ) but Gauff beating Radacanu is no even remotely surprising. Gauff is a better player. Better form consistently over 2 years.
  20. More of a summer one for me. Marseille pushing for champions league and they’ll make us pay something astronomical to part with him in January and to be honest where does he push us on in this season? I don’t think we’ll be in relegation danger but i also don’t share some of the blind optimism of some of my fellow VT’S that we’ll challenge for Europe. We don’t need him in January for what we need to do this season. Basically. I think we need another striker with Ings gone.
  21. I think and expect us to work for any progress we make. I don’t think Emery has a magic wand. We’ve had a tendency in the past to say “ well sure it’s not going well but we are Villa , it’ll come good “ I like him though. His success is borne out of sheer work. A process ( a word he name drops a lot ) has by its definition a start and an end. We’ve barely started. Will be ups and downs. Temper expectations and be patient. We have a good one.
  22. Brighton remind me a lot of Brentford in the championship. They’ve a system and way of playing that i think makes them look better than the sum of their parts. I don’t really know how good Trossard is to be honest. Bissouma and Cucurella have looked very average though since moving on which makes you wonder how good they are individually versus married to a system and style that hid their weaknesses which would become apparent more outside of the “ Brighton way “ so to speak.
  23. Gauff debuted at Wimbledon at 15. French open finalist and US Open quarter finalist. Only 18. Not exactly a randomer. I think radacanu struck lightning for those 2 weeks when she won that slam. She doesn’t seem that dedicated or invested to be honest.
  24. Well done Murray, great comeback. The scheduling is farcical though. Could you imagine a match going on at 4 am local time at Wimbledon ? I think midnight max and then you go again the next day. No reason they can’t start the tournament on the Saturday of the weekend they open if they are pushed for time. 4 am finish, he’ll go straight to do his media as he’s obligated to do, he’ll have to warm down, get a bit to eat and then try and sleep with his adrenaline jacked. Probably be almost 6 am . Ridiculous
