  1. The attacking 3rd consisted of de bruyne, hazard and lukaku, I'd imagine that's why it looks so good and less to do with Henry's impact.
  2. He brought us from our free falling relagation to a play off final, that is not nowhere. He has done a lot for this club, I belive he could do even more and I also understand why some want him replaced but to say he brings us nowhere is completely untrue.
  3. You cannot compare the Real Madrid and Barcelona job with the task involved here, not even remotely close.
  4. And look at the way he took them up, wasn't exactly this new style of football everyone bangs on about with young new managers it was some of the most defensive football ever seen. All 3 play off games were even draws and they got through on penalties, finishing 5th on minus GD says it all.
  5. I knew for a fact a lot of our fans would want Henry for this reason. Just because they played for clubs that play good football it doesn't mean they will automatically implement it into their management style, plus it's always going to be difficult to have that style when we have players like whelan and jedinak in the midfield. Zola was one of the greatest premier league players I've ever seen and look what happened with him at Birmingham.
  6. Only positive from Henry could be the young lads we get from arsenal on loan other than that I'm not overly impressed. If he does get the job though I will be 100% behind him the whole way!
  7. I voted in mainly because we've been linked with Henry as a replacement and that does not give me any confidence at all however i would be open to a change if it was someone who's actually managed a club before and we have an clear plan in place for the next few years.
  8. It's still a very good side even without signings, grealish and kodjia for a full season could be like 2 top signings in itself and no wolves walking the league gives an extra promotion spot. Obviously I would love to see us strengthen but I'd still be expecting a top 6 push with this current bunch of players.
  9. Lampard and Terry are just names too though. For what it's worth I don't think lampard will work at all at Derby, same with all these ex footballers that are just walking into management because of their playing career rather than working their way up in management. I can't even think of one reason as to why Henry could even be a remotely sensible option at this stage. Been a number 2 at one of the best teams at a world cup doesn't count for much imo, international football is a whole different game Southgate took us to a semi but we all know he's a dreadful manager!
  10. Do you think we have some sort of rivalry? I don't know any villa fan who really cares how your lot get on, the rivalries for me are between villa, blues and baggies. I understand you're a little bit excited you've finished above us for the first time in what must be around 30 years but we've never been competitive with each other in my life time. Enjoy your time in the prem but there's no Derby for you here, you've got West brom and that's about it.
  11. I don't see how you can compare the two situations, giggs and Scholes were both playing for the biggest club in England and id imagine on a very decent wage under a regime they've had since they were all brought in as youth players which had seen them win a treble! If they stayed at utd they would have still won trophies, which obviously as we know happened. If grealish stays with us there is no garuentee of us winning anything.
  12. I understand everything is a gamble but I do not see the point in changing at this time especially with the window shutting earlier than we are used to. We are still in a lot of trouble currently with finances and ffp, imo this season will just be a mid table finish, we will still sell off some players reduce wages etc.
  13. Good one. trying to replace a manager this close to the start of the season as an unnecessary risk, especially when it's the likes of Henry been touted to take the role.
  14. Because sacking a manager a few weeks before the season starts is a gamble...
  15. So after gambling everything last season to get promotion you think this season we should gamble even more? No matter how rich an owner we have we still need sort this ffp and awful financial situation out before we even think about taking risks imo.
  16. And there is no denying Joe Hart used to be class is there? He's now crap though... I'm not sure if you're aware that the 2017/18 champions league and the world Cup was quite recent meaning Alisson is currently performing at those levels and Joe Hart isn't... If you think you're getting anywhere near 30 million for grealish you're going to be disappointed.
  17. Alisson, 44 apps for inter, roma #1 Brazil #1 with 31 caps. champions league squad of the season 2017/18, World Cup semi finalist. Grealish, motm against Liverpool fa Cup semi final, completed half a season in the championship. Big Big difference between the two. Grealish is still just all potential at the minute.
  18. That deal would actually be worth it which is why I suspect its a load of made up shite.
  19. Fantastic tournament, couldn't fully enjoy the final as I was still gutted England wasn't there but overall can't complain at a fourth place finish especially with our squad. Hopefully villa will surprise us this season as well.
  20. Oh yeah I'd agree our situation is worse because we've actually no idea how bad ours could be but our team without any signings is a lot better than there's if they don't sign any. I don't think we will be to far of play offs with our current side and if 3 or 4 of our youth players can have a good season then we will make a good go at that top 6. Birmingham on the other hand have about 2 decent players rest are woeful.
  21. With the squad they have a transfer embargo is really bad news for them. The window also shuts 3 weeks earlier this season, after how much they've loved our situation it would be absolutely fantastic if this f*cks them.
  22. Wanted him to do well with his career after he moved on from us, now I'm hoping he reverts back to when he first signed for us.
