  1. Think we would be lucky to still have him here come August. We are hardly going to be an attractive opportunity now are we!
  2. I actually hope he goes to spurs, it will be the best move for his career and he will go far rather than being held back by us just because he supports us. Not sure where he would fit currently in that spurs side though, he is way off dele ali standard atm.
  3. 12 points for going into administration, which is a lot considering we will have sold a lot of our players come August. We was 25/1 to get relegated and now at 8/1
  4. I'd love to know what happens in these "fit and proper" meetings they do with potential owners.
  5. I think it'll be just Tony left at the end of the week by the sounds of things!
  6. He played for arsenal, worked under pep and is Spanish so obviously he would have us playing fast atracking free flowing tika taka football by September. In all seriousness though I doubt he'd even be interested, he will surely want a bigger gig than a club with no money to spend and such high expectations, just not a good way to start your managing career in my opinion.
  7. Last time he was here he had a fight with agbonlahor and kicked off with Delph then was moved on after 6 months for basically been an absolute tool so I dunno why you'd think he'd keep a good dressing room. MON would spend our entire 2.75 million transfer budget on wages for a right back we never play so that's also a no from me. Next ridiculous suggestion please.
  8. So a worse version of Steve Bruce then?
  9. Proper embarrassing this is. I bet you £50 we are closer in points to the play offs than the relegation zone come end of next season.
  10. Completely agree with him to be fair.
  11. Yep, we now need to fix around 10 years worth of mistakes, I'd happily sit in the Championship for next 3 years in and around mid table if I could see other things improving like reducing the wage budget, bringing in more youth players that are actually decent. The problem with this is fans are impatient, especially villa fans, we could be 4 months in with a new manager with new ideas trying this route but the bedsheets would be out because we are not in top 6.
  12. Also in a year's time he would have 1 year left on his deal here so would make more sense to not buy him untill then and get him a lot cheaper than pay 40 million to not use him for a year anyway.
  13. 5'11 James Chester about 5'6, I actually think bree at centre back might actually work.
  14. In the same article it says he left lazio after 2 days in charge and walked out on marsielle after first game of the season, add that to the fact he is a pretty unsuccessful manager why would you want him? Because pep and poch like him? Arsene wenger liked remi garde and he's f'in terrible.
  15. Id be willing to bet money Xia has no Intrest in selling and there will be no firesale. You need chill out mate, it's not gonna be that bad.
  16. Yes, there's a reason Leeds are the only interested club interested in him, people get excited over a fancy foreign name and a rumour of them playing attractive football. Fact is Bruce is statistaclly our best manager of recent time, we would be mental to get rid of him and replace him with someone like Bielsa, far to much of a risk in our current situation.
  17. Spurs would be a great move for him tbf. Obviously I'd rather him stay but you couldn't begrudge him a move to there.
  18. Pickford came bottom of the prem with one of the worst goals against in the league, would hardly call that performing. Those figures were just to show how average players can have there prices inflated just for being English, the rest of my post told you why you could maybe expect to pay that much for grealish....
  19. I don't think grealish is worth 40 million but if we don't need to sell then we could easily hold out for that sort of fee depending on how badly you want him. Mahrez has done an awful lot for you no denying that but he's also made it very clear the past few windows he wants to leave, after this window he'll have 18 months left on his contract which is when players values start decreasing quickly. Last window your club valued him at 90 million. The main difference is you have a player who wants to leave, who has the chance to play for the best team in England under one of the best coaches in the world, city know they can put in a decent bid and mahrez and his agent will do the rest to get the move done. We have a young English player who loves the club and has never made any indication about wanting to leave with bags of potential who we most likely will be wanting to keep a hold of which is why we can dictate his value. P. S Andy Carroll 35 Mill, Shaw 30 Mill, Michael Keane 30 Mill, John Stones 47 Mill, Jordan Pickford 30 Mill. Being young and English and having a bit of potential costs a lot!
  20. Surely every player has their price though, 40 million is an unbelievable deal for us I think and well worth it. I just can't see it been true though, it'll be around the 20 million mark which I'm not so sure I'd like to sell at.
  21. Add it to the approx 10 mill we can save in wages through contracts and loans expiring we will be well in the clear. I think the 40 Mill we need to find is a bit of a guesstimate though so could be slightly less or a lot more!
  22. If we didn't replace him then yes but if he went for 20+ we could get some decent players signed and loaned with that which would leave us in a better position than keeping him.
  23. What if non of them are ready though? Davies was good for 3 games, ohare failed to impress on his chance, suliman failed in his loan, Hepburn Murphy didn't even look like he'd ever played football when I saw him, these are our top rated youth players and non seem ready, you can't just throw them in their careers would be over before they started. Green came good under Bruce but unfortunately seems injury prone, grealish is playing his best ever since Bruce came in and bree looks half decent too.
  24. Yeah, injuries were a massive problem, had we not lost grealish and kodjia for so long and had the spell without Terry I think we would have done enough to finish second. People are acting like it's all over for us now and we will become the next leeds/qpr but I just can't see that being the case, we have a good base of players and some great young lads coming through I'd also expect Xia has a plan with ffp. I'm already looking forward to next season and I am hoping Steve Bruce will be our manager.
