He’s firmly on the right wing here. Has had a couple of nice runs, including two where he showed initiative to get it more centrally and get shots off. One was deflected wide for a corner, one reasonably easy for the keeper, but both struck well. He looks a teeeeeny bit lost at sea but that’s expected, and maybe I’m over-reading it. Overall doing well after 35 mins. Good enough for the League Cup and Europa Vauxhall Conference League, you’d imagine.

Get the best of the best they said. Meanwhile, in the real world… My American Green Card cost about $7k all in. I think the equivalent cost for Irish visas is about €800. Now the UK are making it £20,000. The Tories are intentionally making it very, very difficult for normal high-skilled people to move to the UK. Let’s call a spade a spade. Brexit has always been about making Britain white again.

One undertone in this discussion is that it’s an active decision on the part of the likes of the US and the UK to draw this conflict out. That might be true, but I think the simpler explanation is that they just don’t want to commit that much kit. Biden for example is under pressure from Republicans for spending so much on Ukraine in the first place.

Yep. He outperformed his xA by about 20% because he had Haaland in front of him The year before, he *underperformed* by about 20%. xA isn’t perfect by any means but it makes a lot of sense.

Link? Or what’s the basis for this? We have wealthy owners, clear new revenue streams, and a proven manager. There were several suggestions around January that Emery had money but chose to save the kitty for this summer. I don’t know how much money we have but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a big number.

They can get the money now. For a one month loan with no risk (eg PL revenue in escrow), a bank will lend companies millions of pounds at very low rates.
