  1. As much as I don't care how England do, it is a shame to see such a talented generation of players get wasted because of the stubbornness of an inept manager.
  2. I can genuinely see him going in a similar trajectory to Gareth Bale and moving abroad. If he goes to the Euros and does well, Barca may not be too far fetched
  3. Because he's crap and if Januzaj had got a passport after 6 months nobody would have minded him taking Wilshere's place
  4. England doing their best Villa impression there, Sancho isn't Barkley though eh?
  5. Ollie Watkins is the new Ollie Watkins /end
  6. Loved his interview before the Arsenal game, saying he was embarrassed about the two losses but also the team can't have a mentality that "everything is going wrong now", and they needed to evolved week by week and get better. P.s. he is very happy here
  7. VAR is the worst thing to ever happen to football, there isn't any chance he would have saved it. Load of bollocks
  8. He is not a target man. He is 5ft 11. We need to start utilising the players and get the ball to him in a way that makes sense, otherwise we'll be doing this forever no matter who is up front.
  9. I don't think he was that bad today he was just bypassed by the way we were playing long. Out of him and Barkley I'd be dropping Barkley as things stand.
  10. He is crucial to us because of his workrate, however it is somewhat sad that players only start to press because they feel obliged after seeing Trez do it next to them.
  11. He needs to figure out a way to: 1. Stop Tyrone Mings from hoofing the ball up the pitch 2. Get Watkins (or any striker we play) on the ball in the final third without him having to run back towards our own defence to get hold of it.
  12. I really hope clawing back those goals doesn't mask an unbelievably poor half, and overall poor performance. I would drop Barkley to the bench personally, he needs to understand that he doesn't just get into the starting XI by default - he needs to work. Trez changed the game with his workrate but it shows just how much the other players took their foot off the gas just like the last match. Need a serious kick up the arse.
  13. Well, it's 3-0 at half time and they had a fourth goal ruled out for a very tight offside decision. So it was very close to being 4-0.. at half time. Not sure how losing 5-0 would be an overreaction. If anything We look like we'd be lucky to lose by 5.
  14. Just don't understand why we're trying to be long ball merchants still. Surely the manager doesn't tell them to just punt it up the pitch, why by technically gifted players if you're just going to launch the ball over them?
  15. Seems like our good performances were fluke, because we look absolutely clueless just like against Leeds
  16. Oh, so not only was it not a foul, they also took a foul throw lol
  17. Good goal but I have no idea how that was given as a foul
  18. Grealish being fouled 5+ times
  19. Considering he played half way across the world a few days ago he still did fine. You can see how pivotal he is to our midfield and also to the way we move the ball forward, but he has that bite when it comes to defence which we have lacked for a while. You just know at some point in the game you're going to see him make a tactical foul or two (or three or four). He has the look of a flamboyant Brazilian star along with the technical ability to match, but still has a certain grit about him which is why I like him so much.
  20. Over the years we've had some awful keepers, but we've also had keepers that I haven't really had any major issues with besides distribution of the ball maybe. Most recently I'd say Heaton looked great until he got injured, Nyland really wasn't all too bad and I really wouldn't have been mad if Jed Steer was our keeper - he's played his role tremendously since he joined us. That said, after watching Emi Martinez it is so evident that he is way better than any keeper we have had for a very long time. Distribution, his calmness on the ball, the way he commands the area. He catches everything. Everything. Corners and set pieces I no longer watch in fear, I just wait for the man in green to tower up and catch the ball out of the sky. Thank you Arsenal. Thank you so much.
