  1. People are quick to forget Traore’s goals and assists last season, his input was vital to our season. He’s just came back from an operation, let’s allow him time to get back up to speed. Chuk is perfectly suited to our first team and I can’t wait to see him play more often.
  2. Tuanzebe must be up there with one of the best value signings we’ve ever had. We’ve had years of play from him and for whatever we have paid I’m sure it’s been so worth it. Great window
  3. Bit similar to how he looks for England, he looked lost. What we have to remember is our play revolved around him, everybody would look for him, they’d give him the keys and he would drive us. That isn’t going to happen at Citeh, just like it doesn’t for England, because you have others who want the ball and are very capable of doing stuff with it. You know who else we used to run all of our play through, who we revolved our entire game around? Christian Benteke. Jokes aside I hope Jack wins trophies and I’m sure he will, but I really wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a similar fate to Benteke. Incredible player just like CB was for us, but just like CB he has now gone to a team that is not set up for him, the tactics aren’t focused around him, the ball isn’t going to come to him as often. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.
  4. Feel like I’m watching my missus getting shagged but I can’t look away
  5. Much more similar than Nakamba, obviously Kante’s defensive input is way above both players but overall I would liken Luiz’ game to Kante’s. That said, I would hope to see Luiz take a less defensively dependent role, he can make some beautiful long passes. One thing is for sure we have some great options!
  6. If anything I would say Luiz is more like Kante in the sense of he breaks up play whenever/wherever he can and tries to get the ball forward quickly. If you look at passing/offensive/dribbling statistics Luiz and Kante are quite similar in that aspect, but from watching matches I know Luiz often gets caught out of position and in turn makes rash challenges. I personally think we need some height in midfield however we also have to remember we have Sanson coming back which will be like a new signing in itself.
  7. Well his first accolade, being the most expensive player in the PL, is about to be lost already to Lukaku.
  8. He basically gave us one season to get into the CL else he’d leave if City put the cash up. Hope he achieves what we clearly can’t achieve in his eyes
  9. With Jack already showing he doesn’t believe in what we’re doing, it’s going to be a lot easier for the likes of Watkins to get their heads turned. I’d hope we’d completely out price anybody right now though
  10. Another concern over this transfer is how will the other players take it? The likes of SJM who absolutely love Jack, if Jack doesn’t believe in what we are doing how are other players going to view things now? I hope it isn’t the case but this could really demoralise the team.
  11. Ings will ease the pressure on Watkins a great deal, proven goal scorer and bags of experience. Him and Young are great signings in terms of bringing in some “proven talent” and are both leaders IMO
  12. As far as I heard he was offered a very big deal, was happy with it, but it seems something has swayed him as I know NSWE do not want to sell. Maybe all the media attention, maybe just further into his thought process regarding his career and potential to win trophies etc, I do not know. Whatever it is, he's thinking about his career and not about Aston Villa any more.
  13. We've all pretty much seen him grow from a youngster, we've followed his career completely, we've seen him grow into the player he is now and I'd say 95% of us were confident he could do it all along. I guess that why it is hurting our fans and perhaps feels a bit more of a low blow than Delph's departure. He isn't leaving for money, we've offered him a fortune to stay, he is leaving because he wants personal glory and clearly he doesn't believe in what we are doing enough to stay and achieve that with us. Hopefully we prove him wrong.
  14. His faith in “the project” seemingly was BS. Got so much love for the lad but the fact they’ve finally persuaded him over what we have and what we’ve offered is a worry for me. Wish him all the best but he’s given up on us at a point when we’re really in a position to crack on and that just doesn’t sit well with me. Take care Jacky boy, it was fun while it lasted.
  15. Don’t be surprised if you see rumours of a money + player swap deal in the coming days for this exact reason. They can’t pay £100m up front even if NSWE decided to accept their offer. Regardless, tinfoil hat on over the 72 hours because the media are going to do their very best to cause unrest.
  16. No. Unless NSWE do a complete U-turn on what they are trying to achieve and accept a bid, which I don’t believe they will.
  17. Man City want Grealish, Man City will give him a medical if Villa will sell him. Villa won’t sell him, Grealish will sign a new deal.
  18. He’s already agreed his new deal so unless City are paying £200m + KDB I don’t think he’s going anywhere
  19. Some of us don’t care about how well England do we just want to see Villa players
  20. He isn’t going to play, at this point just let England go do their best and send Jack home to rest up for the season please
  21. For me personally it would be a shame to see England win a tournament, and essentially not use who IMO and many others is our best player. I just find it weird how little of an opportunity he is given, I know his fitness isn’t 100% but nobody can deny the fact that he hasn’t been given enough game time.
  22. Targett has been such a good especially purchase for the price we paid
  23. Some of the goals he scores are absolutely ridiculous. Nobody can doubt he has serious technical ability with a football, not just his tricks but most of his finishes are crazy.
  24. I think the only question Jack would need to ask himself is can this project go further? And we all know it most definitely can, I can't imagine he'd leave while we're on an upward trajectory. It made sense at times where we were in dire straights, strapped for cash and looking down. Think he'll sign a new deal.
