  2. You're right, the deflected goal he would never have saved. Having said that, I doubt he'd have wanted to as it was scored by Italy
  3. Could be a a few loans . I think Xia said that a few months ago when talking about Afcon.
  4. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/burnley-aston-villa-want-joey-9222596 Burnley and Aston Villa want Joey Barton transfer as end of his short-lived Rangers career looms. Summer-signing midfielder will be a free agent if the expected pay-off is agreed this week with Scottish giants who suspended him for two months in September Joey Barton is on the brink of a pay-off from Rangers after being signed off with stress. Burnley , the club midfielder Barton helped win promotion to the Premier League last season, and Championship Aston Villa are waiting in the wings for the 34-year-old. Barton's Ibrox career effectively ended on Thursday when he stormed out of the Glasgow club’s training complex – with a coffee machine under his arm. He reacted furiously to being frogmarched into the first-team dressing room by a security guard and ordered to empty his locker. Adding to his humiliation was a ban from using the senior players’ car park and canteen following the end of a two-month suspension for a row with manager Mark Warburton. As part of a peace deal, Barton was expected to train with the kids until January, then return to English football. But he went sick on Friday morning. Mirror Sport can reveal he took back a top-of-the-range coffee-maker he had bought for his team-mates. A source said: “A few weeks before his bust-up, Joey bought a coffee machine and had it put into the first team dining room. It was a gesture of goodwill. “After all the humiliation he was put through, he decided to take it back". "It was clear at that moment he would not be returning.” It is understood a possible £150,000 settlement could be agreed this week". I for one really don't want Villa to sign this fella . I don't want him associated with the club I love . I do however think that he could do a good job for us in the middle of the park , but I honestly would rather look elsewhere or even go with what we've got than have him wearing our badge . May sound like I'm cutting my nose off to spite my face to some but that's how I feel . (could one of the mods add a poll to this thread? Would you like Villa to sign Barton , Yes or No ? )
  5. For the international folk
  6. yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  7. Thought I would start a new thread to discuss this . Any wild/sensible ideas folks?
  8. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3898834/Rangers-target-Aston-Villa-youngster-Rushian-Hepburn-Murphy.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Rangers have emerged as a potential destination for Rushian Hepburn-Murphy should his contract stand-off with Aston Villa go unresolved, Sportsmail understands. Villa are trying to tie down the talented youngster to a new deal given his current terms, signed in September 2015, expire next summer but so far discussions are at an impasse. Rangers are understood to be monitoring the situation and may try to take advantage of FIFA rules that enable out-of-contract players under the age of 24 to move across the border to Scotland for minimal compensation. In the summer Mark Warburton signed Jordan Rossiter from Liverpool and Joe Dodoo from Leicester using the regulations at a combined cost of £500,000. Had either moved to another English club it would have meant a tribunal fee running into the millions. Hepburn-Murphy, the 18-year-old striker, is one of the hottest prospects at Villa, having made his Premier League debut under Tim Sherwood as a substitute at Sunderland in March 2015. He also appeared off the bench against Newcastle in May but his only first-team appearance this season came against the same opponents in September. Villa have splashed out around £29million on Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia, and are well-stocked with forwards, meaning Hepburn-Murphy’s game-time this season has come in Under 23 games, where he has scored four goals. Hepburn-Murphy was superb in finding the net twice in Monday night’s Premier League 2 win over Blackburn, in front of manager Steve Bruce and a host of watching scouts from rival clubs. Villa were keen to get Hepburn-Murphy to commit in the summer and he may have gone on loan to get first-team football had fresh terms been agreed before deadline day. Now it is understood a number of agencies are vying to represent the England youth international and one sees an ultimate pathway to Rangers. Even though Hepburn-Murphy is happy at the club he first joined as a nine-year-old and could well commit his future to Villa, should talks continue to stall he would be entitled to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English side in January. I know it's only the Daily fail but I really hope that we sort this lad out and tie him down to a decent contract . From what I have seen of him he's gonna be of a decent standard .
