  1. So you could actually watch the match whilst cheering on Chelsea? Just the thought of me doing that makes my stomach churn.
  2. Wait, I've just thought of a circumstance where I might want us to loose. If it means that SHA got relegated
  3. Nobody can convince me to ever want Villa to loose a football match, ever! No matter what!
  4. I won't believe that we are going down unless it's mathematically impossible for us to stay up. But heh that's just me!
  5. Interesting little write up in the Mailhttp://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-comment-jordan-veretout-10147594 Aston Villa comment - Jordan Veretout beginning to catch the eye after slow start to life in England 12:00, 28 Sep 2015 Updated 12:07, 28 Sep 2015 By Gregg Evans Aston Villa writer Gregg Evans takes a closer look at the young Frenchman, who is now starting to give Tim Sherwood a selection problem 40 Shares Share Tweet +1 LinkedIn Jordan Veretout following his move to Aston Villa Jordan Veretout is now starting to show why Aston Villa were so keen to sign him this summer. The 22-year-old has played his way into boss Tim Sherwood’s thinking after a slow start to life in England. So much is his recent rise that Veretout now looks certain to start against Stoke City on Saturday in a clash that has already been branded a ‘must-win’ game. Villa looked positive and purposeful when the Frenchman, who grew up idolising Zinedine Zidane, replaced Carlos Sanchez in the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool. Aston Villa's Jordan Veretout applauds the fans after the match He got on the ball more times in 30 minutes than Jack Grealish managed in his 68-minute showing which proves that he’s starting to become more comfortable in possession. In those early games of the season against Bournemouth and Manchester United, Veretout looked laboured and limp. Having not watched much French football I wondered what had made Villa splash out £8million on his services from Nantes. Okay, so he scored or set up 43 per-cent of his former team’s goals last term. He’d also gained plenty of experience - 130 league appearances - at such a young age. But the pace of the Premier League appeared too much, too soon, especially for someone who was struggling to sleep. Liverpool 3 Villa 2 VIEW GALLERY Veretout has a two-month old baby with his wife Sabrina and until he moved into his new home he was finding it difficult to get enough rest ahead of training sessions. Since settling into his new surroundings his team-mates have noticed an improvement in his performances and no more was that evident than against Blues in the Capital One Cup win last week. The midfielder’s second-half performance was pleasing as he slotted into a deeper-lying role alongside Ashley Westwood. Veretout completed the most accurate passes on the night and looked to drive the team forward. When Idrissa Gana returns to full match sharpness - the Senegal ace was clearly not 100 per-cent on Saturday as his sloppy performance showed - Villa’s Frenchmen could give those central positions a new dimension. Idrissa Gueye of Aston Villa and James Milner of Liverpool compete Veretout actually prefers to play in the No.10 role but is ‘happy to adapt’ if Sherwood sees fit. He flourished in the advanced position back in 2013 when France U20s won the World Cup in Turkey. Initially playing as the enforcer in a three-man midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Geoffrey Kondogbia, France struggled in the early group games. Coach Pierre Mankowski changed his system by pushing Veretout into a second-striker role just behind Yaya Sanogo and that sparked the turnaround. Villa’s young middle man held his nerve in a penalty shoot-out to slam in one of the spot-kicks which guided his nation to success. And such experiences at such a young age has equipped Veretout for a crack at the big time. Bournemouth's Joshua King in action with Aston Villa's Jordan Veretout He may come across as a quiet and somewhat shy young man. His English is as limited as it can be but Sherwood can now communicate without having to use sign language thanks to his commitment to pick up the language as quickly as possible. Adapting to a completely new lifestyle is often overlooked. But Veretout is now on the right track and one must think he will only get better as time goes on.
  6. I would imagine has some sense and doesnt read the Birmingham Mail website Iu I hope you are right Zatman !
  7. Article in Birmingham Mail saying we are looking to replace Guzan. Poll on there too. Please vote No and give the man some much needed confidence for Christs sake! Currently 82% saying we should replace him. Even if you agree we should, surely you must realise he is a confidence player and if he reads this.......http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gossip-aston-villa-looking-replace-10142155
  8. I don't trust Clark either, bring in Ilori for Lescott
  9. Do you think the club is rotten to the core? Do you also really believe that it is because of some (rightly) fed up fans on a fan forum? I personally don't think it is. It's ones that overreact seem to be the same ones that believe this. We are close to being a good side. At this point some are asking for the manager to get the sack, saying the supporters are going to turn on Sherwood if we loose to Stoke and some even saying wanting to be relegated! Well if we turn on the Manager now and our new players, guess what, we will be relegated. If we got right behind the club it could make the difference between growing into a good side or vanishing into the championship. That's what is rotten!
  10. People wonder why this club is rotten to the core? Just read most of the dross overreaction on here to find the answer!
  11. We will not go down! Have patients comrades.

  16. Ljajic gone on loan to Inter for the season with the option to buy.
  17. Imo he's the quickest off the mark I have ever seen! Bolt? Gatlin? OK, correction, whilst dribbling a football (and keeping it under control. As I've seen Bolt play football and unfortunately for Man Utd he can't do both)!
  18. Imo he's the quickest off the mark I have ever seen!
  19. Put it this way, you know those you tube clips where he just blasts past dodgy looking defenders. Well he did it against prem left back who resorted to wrestling him to the floor! Left back looked well stressed out
  20. Hi there, my name is Paul, I live in warwick. Life long Villa fan originally from Birmingham and went to school in Aston, less than a mile from the magnificent stadium that is Villa Park!
