  1. First part of this mornings press conference https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1315658995144833&id=101566839887394&notif_t=live_video&notif_id=1477036772372519&ref=m_notif
  2. This seems to be a theme with us. Last season Sherwood didn't get the players fit preseason. This year RDM the same. What a absolute joke. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37669066 New Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce says that lack of fitness appears to be one of the biggest factors behind their poor start to the campaign. Villa, who drew Bruce's first game in charge 1-1 against Wolves on Saturday, have taken the lead seven times in 12 Championship games this season - but have only once gone on to win. "I wouldn't like to say anything against another manager," said Bruce. "But it's fair to say that some of them could be in better condition." Bruce, who took over on Wednesday following the sacking of Roberto di Matteo, told BBC WM: "I can now understand why they've been conceding late - but that's an easy one to sort. "To play in the Championship, you have to have intensity. But we can work on that. "There's a lot to be done and we can only get better. This is a wonderful football club with wonderful support. They're not used to seeing their team play at this level and there's a lot of expectation - and it's my job to try to put smiles on faces." Further hampered by calf injuries to captain Tommy Elphick and fellow defender Micah Richards, ruling them out of Tuesday's trip to Reading, Bruce said that, in retrospect, he might also have left out Mile Jedinak. "Jedinak only got back from Australia on Friday morning," said Bruce, after withdrawing the Australia midfielder early in the game. "Maybe I should have left him alone, but I wanted his experience. That was a mistake by me."

  6. (in case you cant get on the os) Aston Villa Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Bruce as our new manager. The 55-year-old joins the Club with an outstanding track record in gaining promotion to the Premier League having successfully done so on four occasions. He brings a wealth of experience with him to the post with previous spells in charge of Hull City, Sunderland, Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and two stints at Wigan Athletic. Steve said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity. It is one of the big clubs of this country. To be given the opportunity to manage it is terrific. “I relish the challenge of trying to take the Club where it wants to go and needs to be – and try to turn around the misfortune we seem to have had over the past few years. I am absolutely delighted to have been given the chance. I hope I can do my stuff.” Owner Dr Tony Xia said: “I’m delighted to welcome Steve to the football Club. With his track record, not only at leading teams to promotion from the Championship but also vast experience in the Premier League, I believe we have secured the services of an excellent manager. “I have had good conversations with Steve and we look forward to working with him.” Chief Executive Keith Wyness added: “In the recent transfer window we focused on character, personality and experience. These three words can be applied in spades to Steve Bruce and I look forward to working closely with him as we turn the Club around and get us back to where we all want to be.”
  7. Yeah, I'm normally Mr positive give him more time and get behind the team kind of guy and I still am. But this appointment is wrong for me. I will back him of course but can't see this working out short term or long term. Prove me wrong please Bruce.
  8. Dyche > Bruce all day every day and twice on Saturdays.
  9. Sacked Di Matteo on Saturday night according to reports. The Doc sure isn't messing around! Get the right man in and he'll be backed to the hilt I feel.
  10. https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2016/10/03/club-statement-roberto-di-matteo Gone... Aston Villa Football Club has today parted company with manager Roberto Di Matteo. The Club decided to act following a run of disappointing results which has the left the team occupying 19th position in the Championship. The Club would like to place on record its appreciation to Roberto for all his efforts in helping rebuild the squad and wish him well for the future. Steve Clarke will take over as caretaker manager during the search for a new manager. There will be no further comment from the Club.
