  1. I don't think the concern should be any more about the immigration than it should be why people would choose to commit something as horrendous as this. Unless it's been committed against exclusively French lifestyle, it could have happened anywhere in the world. Would there have been such coverage had it been elsewhere? Probably not. Would the crime have been as heinous, of course.
  2. I tried reading on an ipad and a nexus tablet using the kindle app and it absolutely fried my eyes. The screen on the Kindle Paperwhite is considerably more forgiving, particularly in either end of extreme lighting. Well worth the investment.
  3. My uncle died last year. He was a great man, very successful business, lovely family, nice big home, travelled the world, did loads of fund raising etc. As part of his funeral arrangements, he asked for donations to a charity that he was strongly involved with, to stop Polio in Africa. It turns out that with the donations they received, he raised enough to vaccinate everyone end eventually rid the world of Polio completely. Although he's gone, he's left a legacy and a chance of a healthy life for many more people. Bit of a legend really for that.
  4. It appears there's also an app called Moonlight Streaming, open source and available on all platforms by the look of it including ios
  5. Technology these days there's little that's not possible, blows my mind
  6. Steam does it eh? That would solve my problem straight away, ta x
  7. Is such a thing possible? Say if I set up a game of football manager on the desktop, is it possible to play it off the laptop? I know NVidia did some streaming thing once but think it's monthly subscription?
  8. Too much to respond too individually, but some very good points made by all for/against depression and methods of dealing with. Jon your post is almost exactly the same as my situation as, just probably dealing with things in a slightly different way. Thanks all, it's obviously more common than I imagined, it's gonna be a long road no doubt but nothing else to do but fight it
  9. I was going to helpfully suggest you just buck up your ideas and cheer up. Then decided to leave it a day in case it was 'too soon' and you didn't spot the awesome black humour. I think enough time and proper advice has now passed. So, medically speaking, just cheer up a bit. There, Dr Chris has spoken. You can pull your trousers back up now. Never too soon for black humour mate
  10. All very good reading re: depression and your experiences and such. Nice one VT you lovely lot x
  11. Sorry to hear that. I believe there are a few VT'ers who know a lot more about it than I, so I'm sure someone can give you some helpful advice. While I am fairly sure I don't suffer from depression, I am much more prone to feeling down for no apparent reason than I think most people are. I know it's just how my brain works, chemically, and that makes it a lot easier to deal with. Now, with depression it obviously isn't that simple but perhaps being aware is something that could help you deal with it better? Yeah there is that aspect of it, to be honest it's all caught me off guard somewhat, it's not something I ever expected to be told.
  12. Being diagnosed with depression, realising I'm completely ignorant to mental health issues and struggling to understand why or how this has happened.
  13. Last season, when they were sitting down the side of the lower Holte they were fantastic to be sat by, great atmosphere, no problem with standing. No idea why they moved to be honest. Having not sat by them this season I can't comment on their behaviour but I think they're sorely missed in LH
  14. Gestede deserves a ten just for making Hart look like a pleb. Good summary as always
  15. Yeah I don't think you'll struggle with that budget at all mate
  16. I must have spent close to £700 so BOF, but I think it'll last me a loooooooong time. I was speaking to someone the other day who spent over £2000
  17. Sherwood did that all the time, then when we were shit he sat down.It makes zero difference the manager jumping around or not none whats so ever, i never understand why fans lift it up as some type of chalice of importance. I disagree, but I understand the point you're making. The main contributor to these situations is whether the players believe in the manager/coach, under Sherwood I wouldn't be surprised if no one trusted him, so ignored any instructions
  18. In public? [emoji33] she was distracted by a large muffin You mean the waitress got involved? Rather alarmingly, I remember the waitress's name, 'Pretty' and to be fair, she was a fine looking young lady.Luckily, I'm far too right on and far too much of a gentleman to use the term 'wank bank'. Well I'm not, so well done on banking it you coy old dog
  19. in an ideal world no. things are a bit tough at the moment and we have shit going on, but either way things are always going to be a bit volatile. we certainly clash because we both have strong personalities but we love each other and we have two amazing kids so we have got to get through it. my brain is blown to bits though after this weekend and hers certainly is too. I think he meant drink, not think Ruge... been doing plenty of that lately but im wise enough these days to know my answer does not lie at the bottom of a bottle, three quarters of the way down.... yes but at the bottom..... no. And also, if you don't finish the bottle you don't have to count it when you get collared by the bride / pulled over by the police [emoji1]
