  1. I agree - he has definitely bulked up and seems more capable of standing up to pushes and shoves.
  2. Oh also we had a load of flame throwers and fireworks on the pitch before the game. Presumably a New Year thing but now I think we should have them before every game...
  3. Was worried for the first twenty minutes or so but once we settled down after the first goal we played like nothing I've seen us play in the last two seasons. We were genuinely excellent and Grealish was outstanding. Please please please show us more of this Villa - we know you are capable of this so why do we so rarely see it? 2018 is off to a great start. Let's keep it going.
  4. WM co-commentator just blamed Onomah for being hurt in that challenge. Apparently he is inexperienced and should have expected to be bashed about....
  5. BBC saying his first game is against us. Pulisball against Bruceball. Sounds like a classic in the making.
  6. Is his first game in charge against us?
  7. He played under 90 mins at the Robin as well, I think any longer is probably just too much for him these days. Agree about the Move Vs Wizzard stuff, although Wizzard were very odd in that the singles were totally different to the album - Wizzard Brew is just a massively noisy beast of an album and really very different to the lightweight poppy singles.
  8. Well done Bristol City. And they should have had a penalty and they had a goal unfairly ruled out too. Great to see.
  9. Unorthodox Behaviour and Moroccan Roll are astonishing albums. Phil's drumming on them is remarkable.
  10. Saw him at Hyde Park - he indeed is struggling to walk and cannot play drums. He still put on a decent show though, particularly good in a festival setting to be honest with his perky upbeat pop stuff. It is odd equating him with the same guy that used to play endlessly complex jazz fusion and prog in the seventies and eighties though...
  11. Saw Roy Wood at the Robin 2 last night. Brilliant night - played loads of his old Move and Wizzard songs. He is a fantastic front man, full of jokes and stories and has a great rapport with the audience. I'd like to see him do a tour in a more 'rock' setting than a 'rock 'n roll' setting (i.e. more guitar and less sax) but it was still brilliant. Not sure how well a gig like that will translate to a nice comfy sit-down venue like symphony hall though.
  12. Nice system there - I once worked on something similar many years ago that determined eligibility to benefits via a series of modelled questions. I would say that I found it very very hard to decide between some of those Brexit choices though, because they were often so disparate in their content. Almost ended up answering randomly at times when there was very little in common between the offered choices.
  13. Wow, I learnt something here. Very interesting that BSL constructs sentences so differently to standard written English, but I can see how that would have to be the case.
  14. Wow... This is unexpected. Keep going though Villa! Time to shake off the hesitance and panic football and just go for it!
  15. This is a disgraceful performance. I am so fed up of watching this rubbish.
  16. I hope we don't have to revise the estimate to page 2000 now...
  17. Yeah, we thought it was a penalty from the Doug Ellis but the replays showed that it wasn't really.
  18. Was actually impressed to see Bruce make attacking halftime subs, I was really not expecting that. Adomah caused all sorts of issues and I thought we'd go on to win. But then Lansbury got sent off for some inexplicable reason that only the referee's tiny mind can fathom and then Adomah got shifted to right back? Huh? And with it we lost part of our impetus, although it we still overall remained on top. Referee was appalling and completely one-sided. That was never a red card for Lansbury, cannot begin to imagine how the ref can defend that decision. Overall, one of the more attacking displays I have seen recently and we were genuinely unlucky not to win.
  19. So Dr. Tony was at the draw then! He is at the far right of the first picture.
  20. Wow - those last two goals.... both amazing. What exactly has happened to Villa this past week? I'm gobsmacked.
  21. I like him, but he's not on the same level as Peter Gabriel despite so obviously wanting to be him.
  22. At a wedding. Dolly Parton is cheering me up. 9 to 5 is a great tune. Oh and also Aston Villa. Something.
  23. That passing plot shows just how important the Hutton/Elmo combination was to us and how much of a mess the Gabby/Bacuna/Taylor axis was (basically one too many players in the same area). And when Hull neutralised Elmo in the second half we just collapsed entirely until Green came on and restored balance. Just why couldn't Bruce see what was happening earlier? Surely he could have brought Green on to counter Hull's tactical switch? And if Green was not fit enough for more than 20 mins then at least make some other kind of adjustment. Very frustrating.
