  1. Yes youre right - I am probably best to back down - everyone else has had to do. I m surprised that web page I linked is still standing. Don't be a martyr, it's hypocritical.
  2. If karma was real literally everyone would be equal in every aspect of life. They're not. So it's bollocks.
  3. It's perfectly valid to dislike Liverpool as a club and to look at events like Heysel, Hillsborough with a degree of balance. Aknowledging historical context is a pretty basic cognitive skill to be honest. Smetrov mate, probably be best to back down on this one.
  4. obviously absolute concrete evidence is needed. im not saying execute everyone but imo the death penalty should apply in certain cases. It's not as simple as that though. There are any number of reasons why you could be found guilty of something you didn't do because the legal system operates under the principle of reasonable doubt, not absolutes. There are cases from decades ago that were seen as "concrete" that are only now being reviewed because new evidence comes to light or old evidence is shown to be misleading, misinterpreted or just plain wrong. Add to that the fact that juries are made up of people with little or no legal knowledge, and the assumption that any crime serious enough to warrant the death penalty would be turned into a circus by those absolute ******* scummers who write for the tabloids and you've got a recipe for disaster. Then of course there's the issues of people being framed by the police, or given a harsher punishment than usual by some judge who wants to make a name for themselves, or because the case is politically sensitive and the government wants to be seen to do something. These are all reasons why we got rid of the death penalty in the first place, and to my knowledge there has been no period in history where killing people for committing certain crimes has lead to those crimes ceasing to exist.
  5. There's enough innocent people in prison to tell you that the death penalty is an absolutely moronic idea. If you're wrongly imprisoned you can appeal, or at least do your time and die a free man. You can't undo an execution, so if the state kills someone who is later found to be innocent, by their own standards someone in the judicial system needs to be executed because they are accountable for that murder.
  6. Fair enough, but recreational cocaine use and a serious opiate addiction are hardly comparable. And as for your dealer, him going to prison may have stopped you being able to get hold of his coke, but it definitely didn't stop that coke being circulated, or stop someone else from stepping into his place. All that happens when you increase the risk to the supplier is the financial reward is also increased, simply to incentivise people to take said risk.
  7. What about all those US troops guarding the poppy fields in Afghanistan? Surely they play a part in all this... You're going to need a bigger gun...
  8. It's not that strange. A few years ago, when he was in opposition, he said in Parliament that he isn't a football fan. Somewhere along the way someone told him to pick a team to help him appeal to the plebs, and he's got his lies mixed up. Exactly. A dishonest man in a fundamentally dishonest job is found to have lied about something that doesn't matter, that he only said in the first place to draw attention from other lies about things that do matter.
  9. Yeah but an undisclosed number of those 2,467,433 had been naughty so it's kind of fair enough. He's not made of admin.
  10. Because we won a big game. If we lost the thread would be full of comments saying he was invisible, what does he even do etc.
  11. If history has taught us anything it's that any proposition that starts with the words "surely Ashley wouldn't" definitely will happen. Just in a slighter seedier and low-rent way than initially envisioned.
  12. Adebayor would score as many goals as Benteke has this season, but over his entire 5 year £120k contract. That's a bit harsh! I think he'd have to accept he'd never have another contract like that again (Don't Man City still pay most of his Spurs wages?). I think if motivated, and that is the key, he could be good for us. Sherwood got him playing well last year. Still much rather have Benteke though A little harsh, and a little tongue in cheek. I accept Sherwood did get him scoring again but realistically speaking there are a number of factors at play. 1) Transfer fee. Unless we got him on a free no way would we match what Spurs ask for him, especially with Randolph still here 2) Wages. He will obviously have to take a pay cut wherever he goes but equally he'll have one eye on retirement. A move abroad somewhere like the US or Russia makes more sense than a club that could very well still be battling relegation next year. 3) Form. No guarantee Sherwood would even still be here for the duration of his contract, in which case we're left with a star striker that can go off the boil for seasons at a time and no-one capable of motivating him. 4) Resale. We've literally JUST managed to offload Darren Bent (and even that's not 100%) after what can charitably be described as a period of misguided transfer decisions. Replacing him with Abedbayor to me at least doesn't exactly show that lessons have been learnt.
  13. Hes so far up his own arse it's unbelievable. A fact proven by that inside Liverpool documentary that was on a few years ago, which showed the inside of Brendan Rogers house Jesus Christ
  14. This. There's now a huge sign saying Conservatives on a sharp bend right outside the local Tory MPs house. Everyone knows she lives there. We already assumed that's who she'd be backing.
  15. Adebayor would score as many goals as Benteke has this season, but over his entire 5 year £120k contract.
  16. Yeah, a career of being a bit part player in a team that is massively overhyped and then turned into a scapegoat when you fail to get out of the group stages. How ******* tantalising.
  17. Playing like someone with something to prove. If he wants to get his international career back on track he could do a lot worse than starting alongside Delph every week. I'm not saying I necessarily think he would get picked, but with Hodgson's tenure supposedly coming to an end soon and the increasingly positive press for Delph, it might be something for him to consider.
  18. 5Live was pretty bad as well. That bloke who always seems to commentate our games made no effort to hide who he wanted to win from the off, at one point he even said something along the lines of "I really hope this goes to extra time". To be honest, it just makes victory all the sweeter, especially after the bollocks the Beeb came out with after the last round. By the way, if you go on the Villa page on the Bbc sport website there's a big picture of police with batons drawn, still trying to manufacture controversy. Had to laugh as well when the crowd were excellent all game but didn't get a single mention, right up until Liverpool scored, and then nothing again for the remainder of the match. Shout out to Jermaine Jenas though, he did his best to offset the Liverpool bias by actually reporting what was happening during the game, and repeatedly said we were the better side all over the pitch.
  19. For that money we could have got another 15 Westwoods. Even better value when you consider our injury situation.
  20. I'm exhausted. Absolutely buzzing, shaking like a leaf.
