  1. Does anyone know how we were set up after Elmo game on. I couldn’t quite work it out. Did Kodija come inside and Jack drop back?
  2. I reckon he has just successfully fought to keep his place.
  3. Squad wise we have adequate strength apart from at the back. Need to get through this stretch of games without losing key players. At one point in December there are 4 games in 9 days. Ridiculous.
  4. It’s also widely acknowledged we are a complete work in progress. The speed of improvement has really surprised me. I hope it’s not just a new manager bounce.
  5. It’s refreshing to hear that Smith wasn’t happy with the performance. We can and will be a lot better than that.
  6. Going off topic but for some reason Hull v Reading from 2015 was on Sky. That was one of hell of a Hull team yet it only made playoffs. Bruce has a great promotion record but we can’t overlook he normally had one of the best or expensively assembles squads in the league at his disposal. In contrast to this I always saw Smith as massively overachieving at Walsall and at Brentford considering they are both relatively small teams and also have a positive net spend each year. I wanted to see what he could achieve with even better players to work with. Early days but so far so good.
  7. You mean like against the best team in the league so far?
  8. I noticed this too. I hope it’s more to do with how poorly we were playing rather than how we were trying to play.
  9. Well at least you’re not worried about the 17 games before then
  10. He shouldn’t really be playing for us anymore if we’re being honest. Landsbury looked sharp when he came on. Real blow for him to get injured again. So I guess Whelan may still play a role for us due to so many injuries in his position.
  11. Three of them posts are from the same person !
  12. Hutton can play there more than adequately. I think priority is keeper, centre half cover and then left back.
  13. Same people that have decided he is shit and written him off it seems. It was one of his poorer games since Smith took over but still a lot better than what we saw of him at the start of the season. I do accept we need to replace him eventually. I don’t think it’s a January priority though.
  14. It was more the way he fell. Has to be stronger than that. Im ok with him in goal until January and then as a number 2. Signing Heaton excites me.
  15. Come on mate. Yes he got done a couple of times but generally he was fine. He does struggle with one and one situations though.
  16. I think he is growing in to a deeper role. He has a great range of passing so suits him to pick up the ball deep and get his head up. Also he is a quite a busy player, puts a shift in. He can be frustrating at times with sloppiness but I think we look better with him in the team than without.
  17. He’s hold up play and movement is superb. If he can become a little more ruthless in front of goal he can be the all round striker. Edit: I think you only really appriecate how much a player like Tammy does for the team when he is not playing. The Norwich second half is evidence of this. Crucial he stays fit.
  18. Haha so true. It was a wtf just happened moment!!
  19. I was very critical of Hutton the season we got relegated because I remember instances where he would just stroll back. But thinking back It’s hard to judge any of players we had that year such was the poisonous atmosphere at the club. The last 2 years I think he has played the best football he has since his Rangers days and this is purely down to his hard work to keep himself n peak condition as he gets older. Hats off to him. True professional.
  20. Home advantage is big for us and Stoke are just shit.
  21. So out of a run of 7 tought games and a potential 21 points we already have 6. Another 9 points out of the next 5 games would be a great return and keep us in the mix. I fancy us to beat forest, stoke and Leeds.
  22. I like everything I’ve seen so far and i’m not just saying this because of who the last guy was.
  23. It is and I should have probably added that I’d rather see us attempting to play a certain way and making mistakes while learning than just constantly going route one. I do think we could see a very different back five though next season regardless of which league we are in.
  24. I think this may continue until certain players that aren’t comfortable on the ball under pressure are replaced.
