  1. Maybe I shouldn’t try and speak for fans. For me it’s a big game but not the biggest game. Every game is as big as the last because it’s all about promotion for me. Not beating the blues. But that’s just me.
  2. True but I hope we never see the day that the biggest game for our fans in a season becomes beating the blues.
  3. Ha I should read it properly before posting. I’m sure there was another one about making other teams fear us or something like that. I think they could be being made up.
  4. I think he was decent in his first half season with us and ok at the start of last. Then he got suspended and Hutton took over. Around that point he seemed to turn to shit and has never really recovered. Don’t know if that was around the time he did Coleman over. He never got a run of games after that. He did have the odd ok game such as against Wolves though.
  5. But there is still a good player there someone and we’ve seen that in the past. He also played well last couple of games. The confidence is returning. Let’s give him another chance.
  6. Maybe for them. I’d happy lose to them twice if we still got promoted.
  7. Don’t rate Hogan but still interested to see if he can play a part this season and look a better under Smith. But if he isn’t playing it means Abraham is doing well so I’ve no problem with that. He has to wait for his chance and make sure he takes it.
  8. He did an outrageous flick as well! He’s looking confident. We will be entertained!
  9. Spot on. Some on here have just deemed to be crap and that’s all there is to it. How does a player that has nearly 50 caps and over a hundred Premier League appearances not be good enough for the championship? He has been poor, there is no denying that. But there is a player there and with confidence he can be just fine at left back.
  10. I keep seeing these quotes about finishing teams off and making teams fear us but I haven’t once heard him say it. Has anyone got a link where he has actually said these things since joining villa or are they past quotes?
  11. Fair points but I think everyone involved with the club could see Cahill was going to go on to big things. Well everyone apart from the one man that mattered. I remember telling mates at the time he was going to be the next John Terry. I was horrified when we sold him.
  12. This guys gonna light up Villa Park on Sunday!
  13. He likes a challenge so would have loved the Derby. On the other hand he would have been guaranteed a yellow card or worse. Big miss but hopefully we still have enough to beat them.
  14. I suppose that changes things a little. Still see him staying in the the Premier League though.
  15. Cahill is 31 and has been one of the best English defenders over the past 5 or so years. There is no way another Premier League is not going to snap him up. Also not a chance in hell he is dropping down a league. Edit: personally see him ending up at Man U.
  16. I agree but I’ve always seen Monk as the kind of manager that likes a passing game and sticks to it no matter Hence not exposing our biggest weakness. Similar to Derby.
  17. I think the whole of the Championship know’s he’s dodgy!
  18. That’s why I asked who said that. Are you concerned about the tactics of their fans?
  19. Who are saying that? i haven’t seen Blues play but hardly sounds like Monks style.
  20. Whilst not ideal a Back four of Elmo, Axel, Jed and Hutton is more than good enough for this game. Especially if Nyland has a new found confidence to leave his line. In my opinion of course.
  21. McKenna it seems we could have signed in the summer if hadn’t bid so late. Dont know anything about him but would welcome any highly rated centre half. We’re desperately short.
  22. I’m agreeing with you. I’m just wondering why clubs keeps hold of them if it’s clear they will never make it. Lyden is 23. If he’s not good enough now will he ever be? Im assuming it’s due to contract obligations.
  23. I agree with the younger players but I do wonder how good a player is when if in his early 20s he can’t break in to a squad that is depleted in the position he plays. Suliman for example will turn 21 soon. Yet if he is loaned out when we are so short at the back will he ever be good enough? Or is it a case of having to loan these players out until their contract ends.
  24. Exactly. Plus correct me if I’m wrong but I believe non of them were away for international duty so have been able to work on a partnership for nearly 2 weeks.
