  1. He is terrible, if he is the sort of player we should have on our books then we may as well give up now It's a moot point but if it wasn't for him being in the right place at the right time (and of course a rush of blood to Fosters Head) then we'd not have beaten West Brom and it would have been a more of a squeaky bum time than it was and we'd probably not have gone on that run of wins as it would have deflated the team and more pressure - but each to their own - think myself there is something there - he does seem to have a great cross on him - remember that goal scored by Benteke I think. And that wonder strike against Stoke.
  2. Well Lerner guaranteed the purchase of petrov before he took over fully so they in effect could. Well that was what the advisors told us.
  3. GK FB FB CB CB MF MF MF MF CF CF SUB SUB SUB SUB SUB SUB i think we'll line up with that line up in one form or another So next week it will be N N N N N N with bonus ball N?Yep spot on - it's easy isn't it this speculation larkGreat bants. As I think the young folk say. I am 100% confident that the line up suggested is wrong. Will let you figure out why. Points to whoever gets it first. I dont believe you can play with two CFs. Yeah we'd still be shit
  4. Well in liu of any other corroborating evidence id say I'd take it with a pinch of salt!

  7. Yeah and that Spurs will offer £20million.
  8. The noises from the club indicate to me that no takeover is imminent. the noise of a donkey slowly dying Must be B®aying for blood!
  9. Just like Ellis would NEVER take the European Cup Winners and dismantle the squad and relegate us with his penny pinching ways - OK right I must have dreamed it all and that never happened - we actually never got relegated under Ellis and he never penny pinched and sold our best players to fund others rather than put a single penny of his own money to buy a player. OK I was wrong about him all this time! Ellis being poor isn't a good defence of Lerner, just as Lambert being poor, doesn't mean Sherwood's errors are less so. It's not a defence it's an observation when it is stated that Ellis would never have let what has happened to us happen - well I'm afraid he DID let it happen and HE went one further and relegated us - (and interfered with the manager doing his job) - just like all and sundry blame Lerner for our plight-. Lerner has his flaws (big ones in some peoples minds) but I don't easily forget what Ellis did to Villa and I look back further than the premier league Era. Ellis had 25 years or more - Lerner's had much less. Granted different times but still the same analogy - if Lerner is an A***hole then Ellis is/was an even bigger A***hole.

  11. Smile? I was laughing. It was a laughable performance. It was either laugh or get angry. No point in getting angry over it, so laughing it was. I was laughing too at the abject performance so I presume you want me to get the *** out of the country and Aston Villa too (seeing as I am not of natural English birth). I actually was applauding Arsenal (as were the many fans around me) so that makes me (and them) less of a fan.
  12. Good job you aren't one of our scouts then
  13. He can't jed is cup tied so no way will he start.

    Carles Gil

What you mean he smiled and was enjoying himself - yeah must be true! Jeez there was a shot of him smiling at the beginning and having a chat with benteke I think it was so yeah there must be some subliminal message in there definitely why else is he looking lost and left out?
  15. Lex mate my post was a response to someone saying he has to go cos he can't cross and is not good enough. My response without his assists benteke would not have got those goals we may not have got the points and may have been relegated. I know it's maybes but who's to say . Just think people forget things sometimes when putting a point across. He's not brilliant but for what he cost and more importantly sherwood likes him. Played out of position but does his job when asked. I think he's had more good games than bad. But what the f**l do I know

    Carles Gil

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3061648/Carles-Gil-hold-talks-Tim-Sherwood-Aston-Villa-future-end-season.html#ixzz3bA31QRIm http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~4626648,00.html That's one seriously dead leg he's suffered that's for sure. It can be. My mate I sit next to at villa had a dead leg in a match. He turned up yesterday with a walking stick. Turns out that said dead leg turned out to be serious - a torn muscle. So yea injuries can turn out to be worse after being as innocuous as a simple dead leg. could be nohing more than an injury and I'm not going to make up stuff to say he's out of favour thatca manager doesn't fancy him. Not long ago when Sinclair was out the team people said he was on his way back to Man city as the manager didn't want him as he was a lambert signing. I think myself Gil will be here next season. He will have preseason to 'get back in favour' if ever he was out of favour.
  17. This - he didn't really do that much in those games, in all honesty. With every honest piece in my body, I think he did. im sure he won a header twice in the semi that led to the winner so yeah he didn't do much in the games he has played at all nor did he do much when he did that run against baggies that led to delph scoring. Only a couple but important ones that show we wouldn't be at Wembley next Saturday at least. Probably doesn't mean much in the scope of things.
  18. Indeed, we were far too narrow and multiple time he was stranded on the right with the ball, Cleverley wasn't giving him any movement and he lacks a trick to beat a man down the right hand side, so he was running into dead ends most of the time. However when he did get opportunities to cross, his delivery was poor, and his positioning from a defensive standpoint was even worse. Certainly a candidate to be replaced. I think he's a good squad player but I'm not convinced he's consistent or good enough to be a regular. But this the same player that has had a few assists for benteke (that cross against saints was spot on) without those assists we wouldn't have got the points maybe. I like the guy. His attitude is spot on -asked to play in various positions and does so and tries his best . Might not be good enough for some on here (as is normal). But when he does cross the ball well it is spot on and has been for the goals that resulted. Can't say for sure whether anyone else could have done better for all those assists (not many assists granted) but they helped us to maintain our status on the top flight.
  19. I take it from this that should the miraculous happen and this idiot actually get the tactics, substitutions, and score, right, that " no one will doubt" he is a genius then ? Of course not mate. It'll last for about 2 weeks then until the first signing then followed by more hand wringing once we lose a game or two next season (might be even preseason). Then it'll go back to why Gil isn't playing!
  20. Was kidding dude mate! See the winky! I think he is clued up and I'd rather go for the young players but also for some experience a blend of both be they British or not!
  21. So that means he is going to buy only British? It was a player he commented on whilst he was writing for a paper and not as a villa manager. At least he is young and not an overpriced oldie like mon used to buy.
  22. To be fair i don't think anyone is saying with certainty that he will be buying only british based players, just that it's a worry as. I've already stated why in previous posts. Most likely it is as you say and we will scout all over and sign as good players as we can find and lure here. And on that note does anyone have any idea if we will be sending scouts to the Copa America this summer? Yes mate my thoughts exactly and I hope we send scouts there. Definitely find some decent players there. Be great for once if we unearth a gem from that part of the World.
  23. Steer can't play he is cup-tied as he played for Yeovil against Man Utd
  24. Speculation is fine but to say that he will only buy brtish without foundation or previous history? I speculate he will look further than the British Isles and for non British players no facts to back it up I maybe wrong I may be right
  25. Your right! Adebayor is not British, though we all know he is gagging to get him here. Do we? Must be true he plays for his old team and the press say he is so its true surely (and don't call me Shirley)
