  1. Lack of funds? Jeez we are spending not enough in many eyes but we are spending and building a team. More to come or has someone got itk that it's finished?
  2. Nah he can't cos he's having a medical at man.....
  3. Don't think Lorient would have pulled the plug. They tried to bully us failed somewhat. If they pulled out the player could have refused to go to any other team and they'd be stuck with an unhappy player. They tried and failed. Rather have a player WANTING to play for us and not as a stepping stone and wanting a payday!!
  4. or the Champions League thread. at moment we are in an automatic positionDon't be so bloody positive - you'll ruin it for some on here. Remember second place is the first loser. There you go told ya!

  6. Happened to us before with Milner was due for medical then Geordies called him back.
  7. It is different. That was the player. This is the club acting badly. True mate but there are fans here having a go at the player for doing the same as benteke double standards me thinks by some fans. If this was villa who moved the goalposts imagine the shit they'd get and not the player! But we do transfers the right way where we have been respectful. Lorient are the ones in the wrong. Once a fee Is agreed and permission given then that's it. Sure there'll be a response still blaming the player. Just to say it would not happen at villa - I don't think we have ever changed mid transfer and demanded more money for a player.
  8. The only difference, they don't appreciate how much they're being paid to fulfill contacts they sign. In no other job could you go on strike and know you'll get picked up somewhere else anyway should your employment be terminated. But in any other job you could resign (that is any normal job). Or you could walk out and not come back. You could then get that job you were offered at a higher wage or find another job if you had the skills. Or is it that you would stick with your company and give up the chance to earn more than you ever could in your old job and better yourself? At least he isn't doing a Delph. He is sticking to his guns.
  9. But we didn't change the goalposts we had a fee that was set (maybe the same as in ayews case) and we stuck to it, plop tried to change the terms by offering players (maybe). I'm 100% behind player and villa here.
  10. Also how can you know that the other player is valued at that same price ? That particular better player could be worth more. Just saying Also how can you know that the other player is valued at that same price ? That particular better player could be worth more. Just saying
  11. Nothing like giving the fella a chance eh. I'm sure he's a decent enough player and would get my full support if he signs but I think that fee is grossly inflated to the point where we shouldn't bother at all. We shouldn't be over-spending. (e)17m could get us a better player than him easily. Pray tell who I'm not into watching world football or following players but who young and better with the potential to get better is out there? I can't name one but people come out with this. Then they retort 'not my job it's the clubs job'. Not having a dig just find it amusing that fans always come out with this sort of stuff but never a genuine name or value.
  12. Sounds like the club have done a Delph on him DAD = Done A Delph In all fairness to him you can understand why he's kicking off, he's just using the media to force his clubs hand. He's over here & I can't see it falling apart. No disrespect to Lorient but it's a massive step up....also I'm loving that he has his heart set on coming here, made so nice comments about us! Nice to see we are still held in such regard by someone outside the country. yep, Aston villa is still a big name on the continent Big name all over the world I know for a fact we have a big following in Turkey. I went to Poland last week on business and in places like Poznan and even where our offices are (near polish/German border) I saw people with villa shirts. Fans if other teams here I know still regard us as s big club. Seems sometimes our own fans think so little of the club than outsiders. We are and always will be one of the biggest clubs in UK Europe and the world regardless. I'm proud to be a villa fan and never hide the fact even when we were at our lowest. Things are looking up now personally and can't wIt for the first game of the season
  13. I think Richard believes he's having a medical at citeh
  14. I think the selling club have changed the goalposts. His agent said fee was agreed etc. this is like the milner saga. He was at bodymoor Heath ready to join then shepherd called him back. Different reasons but still selling club called the deal off and Milner was in tears. Think same here things agreed then pull the plug (sort of) Player upset and wanting a move. Just my take on things.
  15. Van Persie is a right prick so I dont see what the problem is either, he also nearly had a punch up on the pitch with Bentdner who is also a prick Adebayor doesnt like pricks God help Fabian Delph then!!
  16. And the award for most negative post goes to..... Seem to have a lot of scouts managers and knowledgeable people on here who know exactly how much a player is worth never having seen them or followed them and who seem to know better than professionals who know better.
  17. It was in this thread from a news report and mentioned his dad was pushing him to join us as he knew us from the 90's not sure if he played here but it stated the part about us being a big club etc.
  18. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-manchester-united-6127410 Nice comments His father bigged us up as he was playing in England in the 90's so knew how big and good we were and still are. The players coming in are making us into a team and things are looking up at least for me!
  19. You don't think journalists don't subscribe to or have access to AVTV and the OS - they'd pick up what he says and make a mountain out of a mole hill with even the remotest harmless dig at dipshit and benteke?
  20. Kinell, it's amazing adults can react like that. What a pathetic bunch of clearings in the woods. Would love it if he scored for us against citeh and did that to Fabian right in his face !
  21. No chance - didn't you say we have a £5 budget ?
  22. I'm very pleased with what we've done so far and I'm excited about what might still be to come. Losing Benteke is a blow but we got a large wedge and seem to be spending it wisely and the squad is starting to look a lot more balanced. I just hope Sherwood gets them to blend quickly and we make up for Benteke's goals from other areas. I'd be happy with Cambiasso and Adebayor on short-term deals to add experience and another midfielder from Europe e.g Praet. Good post that. In the big scheme of things losing Benteke could actually work out as a positive for us, we never usually make this kind of money on players and also, with a player of that type it restricts creativity and restricts formation changes IMO. Sherwood seems to be taking his time and we all have to give him space and time this transfer window, we cannot judge until it closes. The best thing about the window so far is that we are looking for round pegs in round holes for once and we have some players desperate to prove old clubs / old managers that they had them all wrong (eg Richards). Also, there are a few players Lambert bought that I never felt we saw the best of so a sprinkle of new additions and some good transfers in / out and we will be in a better position than last year. I do not get anyone who says we are relegation favourites at this point in the summer. Also, if you feel a bit fed up with the transfer window then have a look at small heath and their dealings so far, it could be a lot lot worse. You never know, we might surprise a few people this year, all it would take is to stop letting in goals at home and we would finish above half way for sure. Sort the home form and the pennies will be at the bottom of the stairs with too many cooks and that. We all know what we need so I expect the Villa do too for once. Now Now we can't have this - you are being positive! But I like it!!!
