  1. Stephane Omeonga for about 5m. I suspect we won't even remember Grealish if this lad came.
  2. Do you wear one of each colour as a pair? ??
  3. I think this is a mistake. 50k kits last year (let's say) so that would mean we would have sold 350k this year at 700%! I read somewhere that sales were up 170% on last year. This seems like a more realistic figure. Still a great job by luke.
  4. For permanent transfers. Loans can still be done until the 31st August.
  5. Good news if you believe that he was going to be Grealish's replacement
  6. Yes but surely everyone wants less IRA not more!
  7. He is effectively on trial. Moreira isn't a Bruce signing so he wants to weigh it up before committing I would imagine.
  8. Perhaps if we called him Powellinho you would prefer him? ?
  9. Steve Bruce is battling to bring in West Ham striker Jordan Hugill and Wigan star Nick Powell as he fights for his Aston Villa future. [@reluctantnicko] #avfc Powell yes... Hugill no!
  10. Did you see something similar on porn hub? ??
  11. It's the wages that is the issue. When you buy experienced ex Premier league players you end up paying Premier league wages.Net spend could be zero, but if the players coming in are on a higher salary then those going out, you get into problems like we did. Plus we are currently paying lansbury, bree and hogan £25k+ per week to sit on the bench every game, which is not an efficient use of resources.
  12. About time! We tried Bruce's way and it failed, leaving us a in financial turmoil. It's about time we were smart in the transfer market as our 12 year old policy of buying high and selling low really doesn't cut it! The whole of scouting and recruitment needs an overhaul and a new, smarter way of operating.
  13. Probably as I would imagine that it is a contractual liability for the club rather then the owner. Xia would have agreed to it as an authorised representative of AVFC. I vaguely remember Xia saying something about it being a sliding scale over 3 seasons. Lerner would get less the longer it took us to get promoted. Would be about 10m if we got promoted this year.
  14. Anyone who **** small heath up is alright in my book! Welcome aboard Darren?
  15. Well after Bruce's comments today about not selling any players, we can safely assume that the owners have a plan to get round FFP, or they are just going to stick two fingers up and spend what they want ?
  16. If the Vinagre link is true it looks like we are definitely involved with Mendes. Although the player is not directly a client of his, the agent is a close associate. This is how mendes gets away with what he does... Have lots of associates doing the direct work while mendes keeping arms length legally but really pulling all the strings behind the scenes.
  17. My view is that Tottenham won't meet our demands as they are too tight. The same happened with benteke and he ended up staying. Pretty sure Grealish will be here when the window closes unless the owners can't get around FFP. (which I think they will).
  18. The official reason for FFP?. We all know that it works great at keeping the big clubs where they are and preventing another Man City situation from happening.
  19. Well considering we were a day away from administration It's quite obvious FFP doesn't work.
  20. The qpr ruling doesn't set a precedent because it was based on old rules. FFP are entitled to change these depending on circumstances. However, I believe new owners are given a degree of flexibility on meeting FFP and, like you said, as long as the club is actively trying to meet it then they will be more relaxed with enforcing penalties.
  21. I think they have changed the rules since the legal battle started so they can now deduct points and stop teams getting promoted if they wish.
  22. Wow! 2 careers he is no good at! He is competing with gabby isn't he ?
  23. Edens' strategy at the Bucks is to buy promising young players. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce had been told he has to do similar and play more youth in the first team. Considering that Bruce's transfer policy of experienced pros on high wages has failed, and crippled the club financially, it makes sense to go in a different direction. The conversation with Bruce was probably something like 'we are doing this now so you can buy into it or leave'. He won't like it but he will have to abide by it if he wants to keep his job.
