    I think he deserves to be given his chance every now and then this season. Some good things being said about him. 2021 could be a big year for him.

    Was thinking this myself recently, it got me wondering who are the ones we replace in the current first team? It’s hard to think of who’d be dropped at the minute.

    Konsa clearly has the higher ceiling and as I’ve said in another thread, he looks the business this season, looking every bit the investment atm. But even so I don’t think it should be underestimated what Tyrone brings to our back 5, even if he has got the odd error in him. His passing is key to our play at times, he reads the game well and he is the ‘talker’ of the CB pairing. Another thing to note is that it’s always him who Martinez is shouting instructions to, I think he’s sort of seen as a vice captain to the players. It’s not always ability, sometimes it’s what the person brings to the side.

    He’s got serious ability in him at times. He’s working harder in the team than previous and it’s paying off for him personally. I’m happy for him, long may it continue.

    The same as Firmino at the Plop. I really rate what he does for them and it’s not all about his goals.

    Mings looks like he’s carrying a knock to me. Maybe a game out will give him chance to come back 100%, because I agree he’s not been at his best the last couple of games. Konsa looks the business though, this season.

    He does. He deserves it too, he’s worked hard for the team and VAR has already screwed him twice this season.

    Most of my memories of us playing on Boxing Day are not great, however I’m very confident of a joyous result this year. I just can’t see Palace keeping us out. Merry Christmas btw guys, stay safe

    Out of curiosity, does anyone know if Purslow or anyone else has previously mentioned anything towards money available in January?

    Not saying they’re comparable in quality, but I’ve thought a few times that Giroud would’ve already scored quite a few for us this season, the way we play. If he’s capable of being half of Giroud after his injury he’s worth holding onto, at the very least for being a different type of option.

    I think there’s more too him. More confidence, a better work rate and he’s got something to offer. Seems like a nice enough guy, can’t see why he’s received any abuse. That’s social media for you.

    If Ollie gets injured in the near future, I can see it being Traoré who gets the nod up front. As you say, his record is decent there. I’m sure somebody has previously posted that he only lost favour before he joined us because he was moved out wide by a new manager.

    This season is mental. I predict an astute January signing or two, who’ll be just what we need to make top 4. Jack in the champions league next year, I can see the headlines now.

    Agreed, I imagine worse has happened behind the scenes for a lot of footballers. I bet a lot of ex pro’s are glad camera phones weren’t around when they were playing.

    Not just that, now the media and every other arsehole will be looking to find every negative story they can find on him. Scandals sell papers, not positives or even actual news these days.

    If he does fully recover from this injury, it’d be interesting if he could compete/ rotate Barkley’s role in the team.
