    Last game of the season Targett apologised at the end to Martinez about him not getting the clean sheet record. He was smiling and said ‘it is what it is’. And he genuinely will have meant it, he seems really happy to be here. I remember cursing Kieran Richardson as a mercenary when he was with us, I’m happy we’ve moved on as far as we have in regards to our personnel.

    That was Southgate’s claim when he got the job. He hasn’t lived up to his word so far, or Ollie would’ve got his call up. I’m fully expecting Sterling, Mount and Rashford behind Kane. Predictable, top 4 players who have the ‘experience’. How any players will get any experience being left on the bench I’ll never know.

    I can see him starting the final group game and lighting it up. I’ll be surprised if he gets 20 minutes against Croatia. I’m crossing my fingers Southgate has clued up but I won’t be holding my breath.

    Yes, even more so now that I think it has an impact on the actual news. But yes, agreed we should leave it there. Again, not my intention to offend anyone. On topic, I’ve a feeling Gareth will be going 3 at the back, and will leave Jack out to play Mount at 10. I don’t think he has a chance at the wide positions as he has his favourites.

    No, that’s what I was implying. I do think there is an issue with newspapers and I certainly don’t think all politicians are as bad each other. The two things aren’t comparable.

    Regardless of the questions around his attitude, he hasn’t been any good for the last 3/4 seasons. The wages we’d have to pay him could be put to better use.

    I didn’t see enough of him tbh. But I’d definitely be up for someone who can play either side, I like us rotating the wide players mid game.
