On the other hand, James Milner is still a very good footballer and ran the most distance of any player in the league at the weekend at the age of 35.
I understand it might be a tough sell to him and Liverpool though.
The West Ham penalty was a bad call, but overall from what I saw at the weekend the officiating was FAR better. Looked like referees were back in control of the game and not officiating by proxy.
The only downside was that it gave Mike Dean his mojo back.
He’s had a good personal game, but the stats won’t show it compared to his time at Villa because he’s not the main man. He’ll have to get used to being a bit bored on the pitch.
So? At that point in time it was 2-1 and they were being battered. Newcastle being Newcastle doesn’t change that.
