  1. I think it's more the Harry Redknapp connection, I think he wants promotion either way. If it was purely for money then a move to the US/China would surely make much more sense.
  2. I'm sorry but have you seen the amount of times he has been in the FIFA, UEFA and PL team's of the year? He is arguably the best defender to grace the league. Ability to read the game, his positioning, his ball playing ability and his leadership are all outstanding. He could quite easily walk into the starting XI of most premier league teams, you should be creaming your pants that we have somehow been linked with him. He's also the highest scoring defender in the top flight ever lol. Also apparently he see's winning promotion as more motivating than a season in midtable or a money-orientated move abroad....a natural born winner.
  3. He's never relied on pace, his ability to read the game is insane...and his ball playing ability is outstanding.
  4. 100% agree, that's why we're going in for whealan imo.
  5. Came into this thread for some positive vibes for next season and..
  6. Really like Under Armour as a brand, they've nailed that away kit.
  7. what the hell is happening in this thread
  8. has this turd not been flushed yet?
  9. Tbh i wouldn't sell any players that are in the match day squad, need to keep it as stable as possible. However, all the deadwood may aswell be burnt in a fire sale...can't imagine them commanding any fee of significance. Don't we currently have like the 24th highest wage bill in europe atm?
  10. I would argue that the game highlighted exactly why we need him, hence why the opposition struggled to create anything of note with more possession. It is no coincidence we have won ONE game without him, and conceded on average twice as many. The defensive line needs that support, it's the same principle as to why Huth & Morgan looked like world-class centre backs with Kante infront of them....Do not under estimate his influence on his team-mate's performances, we tried the gung-ho attacking approach and leaked goals like no tomorrow.
  11. Paul Pogba is proven at the highest level and is a sound commercial investment, with minimal-risk to a club with the turnover of United, but I see what're you are saying. My example would be Hogan and West Ham, they deemed Hogan too much of a risk for the 15mil that was being asked for. Football is a crazy game, but noone is going to pay the value that we have on JK to convince us to sell. At that price point there are much sounder options with less-risk. We think he's the tit-tittays (which he definitely is), but think of how many strikers have scored vast sums of goals in the championship and haven't replicated in the prem. He'll be a Villa player next season.
  12. He's unbuyable, no-one is spending 25mil+ on a Championship player. There is no story here.
  13. This is why he should be player of the season, the team cannot effectively function without him.
  14. If he doesn't fulfill his potential then you'll be completely right, I just don't think we need the cash whilst we are being bankrolled....I guess it's all just a game of risk-taking. On a slightly different note, do you think we should sell Super Jack? Just as he's in a similar situation.
  15. Isn't Ritchie right footed? Sell Amavi and we would need to play a right footer at left back if Taylor picked up an injury (which is likely with our full back curse). I do agree with you that he's not in the form of your career, but I've seen plenty to know hes got the the ability to be a great player. My point is the attitude of "he's playing kack ship him off" is very short sighted, what would we gain by selling him on?
  16. He was very good in France aswell, which is a higher level than the championship? Look at Luke Shaw and Aaron Ramsey after they had similar injuries, they were poor in form the following season. He's still got 3 years untill he hits the peak of his career, wanting to sell him at a time when we don't need any extra cash is just absurd.
  17. He was quality before the horrific injury and it's only a matter of time before he returns to that form, people need to see the long term picture...he's still a young prospect ffs.
  18. I can't imagine a Ronaldo-esk bust of Bruce.
  19. IF we did manage the impossible, where would it rank in our achievements?
  20. As much as Kodjia has been a revelation and a indisputable crucial player this season, the stand out contender for MVP is Jedinak. The man is our key player and a cracking leader both on and off the pitch and we simply cannot function without him. When he hasn't played the midfield crumbles and the defence loses all it's cover and we simply leak goals, no coincidence our clean sheet streak coincides with him returning to the starting XI. The man wins absolutely everything and allows the entire team to perform better over the 90 mins. Attackers always get the plaudits, but without Jedinak I honestly feel we would be in serious trouble.....the man is worth his weight in gold. I do flipping love Kodija though.
  21. I think our big pitch will really help us this game.
  22. Didn't Leicester win the premier league with no possession? Extremity I know, but how many "pretty" teams outside the top 4/5 have scaled those heights.
  23. Completely agree with you, I think losing them both at the exact same time in January was why we were so diabolical. It's of course completely opinion-based, but I would say that Jedinak is the irreplaceable cog. Lose him and the entire midfield crumbles and the defence loses all their cover, whilst Kodija is the team goal-scorer. I'd say Jedinak allows the entire team to play better, but without Kodija we can't score goals (unless you have Hogan, but he hasn't really been fit).
