  1. It's a fair observation...I think everyone is waiting to see what the team will look like after a cohesive and organised pre season.
  2. Didn't we only win 1 (or close to) game without jedinak in the team?
  3. I'm interested to know why you think Steve has overlooked any player's ability.
  4. My point exactly, it's a fine balancing act. There's a reason Furgeson stressed the importance of an cohesive and effective defence in winning titles...defending is effectively just stopping the other team's tactics from being implemented. Look at how many titles Jose has earned using "defensive tactics". But like you said, you need to find the balance between defensive discipline and attacking creativity in the way you set up.
  5. I think something that is being overlooked is the Championship's common style of punting it long for the flick on, which is something that Jedinak stops 10 times out of 10. I'm all about playing beautiful free-flowing attacking football, but the importance of stopping your opponents from playing their "game" is equally as important.
  6. I'd say if you play mcormack as the false-9, you don't need a number 10.
  7. The thing is, all the teams/sides he's played for have not performed well as a group, whilst he was performing well. But, do we have a better player than can play behind the striker?
  8. I went to the QPR game and thought he was immense, that's the think about young (very young for a keeper)...is the consistency and confidence factor.
  9. It's not a bad thing it's a loan, I'd rather have him for 12 months (untill we get promoted????), and then attract a higher quality keeper in the prem. He's definitely good enough for this level, and the familiarity he has with the setup is big positive.
  10. He was actually quite promising when we first received him (a wicked cross on him), hence why there's a portion of fans that are disappointed to see him go.
  11. I know people will disagree, but convincing Veretout to stay honestly could be the best piece of business we make this summer. Without him we lack a ball-carrying agile midfielder to link the midfield to the attack,
  12. ...That gimpy face still invokes unprecedented rage within me.
  13. Messi, the greatest player to ever grace this earth, once called Joe Hart one of the best keepers on the planet.... ....and yet still there are people on VT that react negatively at the prospect of him in claret and blue
  14. What a coup, what a signing. I wonder how long it will be until we see someone photoshop him into the European Cup celebrations in full kit.
  15. How can anyone even have a doubt that signing this man on a free transfer can be anything but a positive. The below list and fact that he's considering our club in the state it's in rather than one final payday is evidence enough.
  16. Come on mate, he's played for city (won the title), played for england, and now is an integral part of Liverpool under Klopp. He was amazing as a CM for us also, it was frustrating he didn't stay to show us what he could do.
  17. I believe it was 7 of the 15 appearances in which he lasted the full 90. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/john-terry/leistungsdaten/spieler/3160
  18. I guess you'd have to factor in fee's + wages for the other deals, i'd argue you probably couldn't.
