  1. I bet Westwood voted for Donald Trump.
  2. I've long defended Amavi, very happy he's proving the doubters wrong this far.
  3. I don't know if he does/will though. Gabby looked unable to cope with the pace and hindered Kodija + Adomah as they could not rotate as a unit effectively (mainly as Gabby could not get into position quick enough. Easiest way to free up your goal scorers is a system that allows all the forwards freedom to roam away from their markers, Ayew and RHM would allow that imo.
  4. We lauded his leadership qualities and positive attitude in the dressing room, and now those same people want to discard him on performances under a manager that had the samea defensive IQ as a Wheetabix. I'll have Tommy as my third choice centre back any day of the week, after years of seeing the likes of Okore, Herd, Bennett, Senderos, Richards ect ect, you'd think we'd be grateful.
  5. Isn't he the 2nd best in our squad for chances created this season statistically? I trust Bruce to get him firing, even if he takes on the false 9 role and provides for kodija.
  6. We've got to keep playing 4-3-3, it's being paying dividends for our defensive form. Jedinak needs two midfielders capable of defensive duties, I'd keep Westwood and Gardener..and ease Bacuna back in off the bench.
  7. Goals, victory and celebrations.
  8. Rumours that he isn't near Bruce's required fitness level, with his injury record it could have some truth in it.
  9. This isn't actually something I had considered, point well made. We all know and complained about the squad culture (or lack of it), the approach you mention certainly would change that if everyone thought they had a shot if they put the work in. As long as he isn't unfairly favoured by Bruce I have no problem with it.
  10. The thing is, I don't remember him ever being a reliable finisher or link-up player. What's going to change once he finally gets fit again, especially now he's lost his pace? If we weren't caught up in the local boy romance, would this debate of concluded already?
  11. Make no mistake, Jedinak is our key player. The man wins everything, and as such everyone around himhim plays better (Baker especially, but also Chester, Gardener and Westwood deserves a special mention). Other teams cannot break through that middle ground, unless we are all out of position such as when Brighton scored yesterday.
  12. Honestly he can not run at all, like not even a little bit. It actually hinders the other forwards as they cannot rotate, press or make runs efficiency as he can get in position fast enough. It's like watching a sprinter in slow motion, if that sprinter was also massively unathletic.
  13. Stuck in the car park on the way home, what a performance in that second half. Also, Gabriel Agblonglahor can not run anymore. He was so frustrating to watch inside the ground, could not press or keep up the pace. It also impacted on the other forwards who couldn't rotate efficiently as gabby was too slow to get in position. Not a coincidence that as soon as he came on we had our best period on the game. One final note, Jedinak wins everything..everything. Loving the brucey reign, best run of games in 6 years...very happy villa fan.
  14. Can I just say for the first time in almost half a decade I actually look forward to watching our team play, and I have Brucey and Xia to thank for that. I've become so used to watching half-arsed players play a tactically poor game plan, for a manager that really doesn't have a clue. It's so refreshing to have a manager I actually respect in both a personal and professional context and actually has the required credentials to manage a club such as this. I almost feel as if I forgot the feeling of watching a team with an actual identity with players that have a suited role within that system. Really enjoying all the positivity coming out of the dressing room at the moment and we actually have players I actually really enjoy watching (Ayew, Kodjia, Chester ect)....and i still feel this team hasn't even gotten out of third gear. Apologies for the optimism out the blue, but i'm off to Brighton this afternoon and for once i'm in a really good mood for the football and thought i'd share.
  15. i'd honestly rather the keeper took one before him.
  16. Gotta be Tishobla, Gardener and Bacuna as a middle 3.
  17. I really like Sherwood, only wish him the best.
  18. I've chose to ignore last season from all my conversations/posts about villa, don't think we were 100% for a single minute of a single game last season.
  19. I agree with you, but Joey was a silly boy and did a bunch of radio interviews about it I re-call..can't imagine that going down well at any club
  20. Agree. I think what we should consider is that every single team in the division see's us as a target and turns up 100% from the off. That means unlike other seasons we cannot afford to start games slowly, i'm not sure these players are used to that mentality as of yet.
  21. @Grasshopper, I witnessed Emile Heskey chip David James to score against Portsmouth....if that doesn't dispel the bad luck/omen rumors, i'm not sure what will.
  22. Adama moved to the prem and you could reasonably argue Amavi made more of a positive impression last season.
  23. one of the only chances I get to attend an away fixture this year, so incredibly pumped....and we are actually in form!! (the last away fixtures i attended were arsenal 5-0 and southampton 6-1). Is there anything better in this life than being in that away end? (results pushed to one side)
