    Keinan Davis

15 million for Davis??? 15 million for a striker who hasn't scored goals throughout his career until the past 6 months? 15 million is highway robbery, IMO...
  2. Way too much emphasis on Assistants and their impact over the years... Many have come with big reputations and failed in spectacular fashion for us (McAllister 1st time, Keane, Clarke, Calderwood/Clemence, Shakespeare, etc.) and for all of Beale's reputation as a genius tactician, I didn't see anything last season which lead me to believe that was true in the slightest. We'll bring someone else in and not much will change, IMO. Will still play the same brand of dull and boring footy for as long as the Gerrard regime sticks around.
  3. Another shit call by Jonathan Moss... Glad he's retiring... Fookin' dinosaur.
  4. I don't know whose fans are more delusional: Arsenal's or Newcastle's?
  5. This is the most Claret and Blue tinted statement I've ever seen. Konsa is a mid-table defender at best and will never get an England cap, unless a dozen other CBs all are out for some reason. He is bang average in every single stat as a defender and I'm glad we've moved to replace him in the team this summer.
  6. Do you think that the top teams care about a player's resale value when they bid for them? No... They look at whether or not they'll improve them slightly next season or significantly in a few. We have plenty of developing talents on the team, we need some experienced winners in the side... Leaders who will run through a wall if it means we'll win a game. Jack was that guy for us... How many times did he take the ball down the pitch to create a chance and all of a sudden the entire team rallied around it to close out a game/come back into it? Buendia has that kind of fire and arguably McGinn, but we need more players like that throughout the squad. Say what you want about Suarez, but he personifies that kind of attitude. Having a 35 year old Suarez come off the bench in the last 10-15 minutes to try to find a goal is something we would have loved to have this season. I've always hated the player, but I also hated Terry too and look at the impact he had on Grealish's development. I don't rate Gerrard as a manager, but I can't fault his signings so far. They've all been spot on since January. Hell, even if we continue to under achieve next season, we'll be in a much more attractive position for a proven winner of a manager to come in and lead us into Europe with this kind of a squad we have now.
  7. Doing an Everton is better than doing a Fulham, I guess... Would rather do a Leicester, though.
  8. I'm blaming you if he reappears because you summoned him like the Candyman...
  9. Still need a backup goalkeeper, another midfielder (if Douglas Luiz leaves), and possibly another creative midfielder (depending on who leaves). Lots of possible outgoings... El Ghazi, Trezeguet, Traore, Nakamba, Davis, Hause, Guilbert, etc.

  11. They couldn't even get their main targets in January by throwing huge stacks of cash at them. Hell, the best manager they could find to replace Potato Head was Eddie Fookin' Howe. I don't see them challenging for Europe for another couple of seasons. They need to build a base first.
  12. I don't... TBH, I could see us signing both of them and shipping Konsa/Hause out for 25-30 million, leaving us with Tarkowski, Carlos, Mings, & Chambers.
  13. He's the one we're linked to that I want the least...
  14. Took us until 2019 to sign the first Brazilian in the entire history of our club... Now we're signing more and more every season! UTV!!!
  15. Our CB corps could possibly Tarkowski, Carlos, Mings, Chambers, & Konsa (out for a long time) - Compare that to what we had at the start of last season - Mings, Konsa, Tuanzebe, & Hause... Huge upgrades all around.
  16. TBH, I can also see Deano inquiring about a few of our youngsters to take on loan next season. Archer, JPB, KKH, Carney, Aaron Ramsey, and Iroegbunam would all be good options for Norwich, as well as Davis, Hause, and El Ghazi as full on signings for them.
  17. Europe or Bust. To be honest, we weren't as far off as the table suggests... We were only 7 points off 8th and barely had any draws. That's turning around 3 results and we would have finished 8th instead of 14th. Hell, we would have finished 7th, if two of those results were the double against West Ham and a draw against someone else... That's how close off Europe we were. Assuming we add Tarkowski and another midfielder, on paper, we have a squad capable of competing with West Ham, Leicester, Wolves, and at least one of Man United, Spurs, & Arsenal will underachieve next season. It's going to be a battle between us and all those teams to see who is the most consistent.
  18. Now there is an 8 I can get behind... Soucek over Bissouma any day.
  19. Uh... What? JJ arguably looked worse during his first few cameos than Carney has... Hell, Grealish looked completely lost at times for us until he was ~21. For a 17 year old kid thrown into the deep end of the Premier League, Carney has looked promising enough. He's almost scored on a few occasions as well.
  20. Still baffled by all the comments on his attitude and burning bridges with the club... None of us actually know what is going on behind the scenes or what Carney is actually like.
  21. Well, then it would be the second summer in a row Man City were fleeced by a lower half club for an overrated Englishman.
  22. Tarkowski was the best ball playing CB in the Championship at Brentford, which is why everyone was shocked to see him go to Burnley where he seemed like he would be wasted in Dyche's tactical system. He's much better on the ball than people realize and, IMO, a better defender than Mings (who I also rate). He'll be our #1 CB.
  23. This is great news! Very underrated defender in his prime on a free transfer. He'll be the No 1 CB at the club and a fan favorite by the end of September. He's been overlooked so often because he was at Burnley. Another outstanding acquisition by the club.
