Very much so when I'm reading VillaTalk... McNeil is the most Martin O'Neill signing ever... English, overrated, and overpriced.

Huh? What about Chrisene (From Exeter - League One experience), Bogarde (From Feynoord), Swinkels (From SBV Vitesse), Feeney (From Fleetwood - England U16 captain), and Kerr Smith (from Dundee - SPL experience)?

15 million is a good fee. We made a profit on a player who is a midtable starter at best and replaced him with a French international who is one of the best LBs in the world who was not playing in a Champions League club, for only 10 million pounds more than we got back on Targett. Brilliant business all around. Also, it's hilarious to see Newcastle fans on Reddit and Twitter still trying to say they're paying less than the 15 million Villa's official website said the deal was done for... Trying to make it out like we got fleeced on the deal. lol

Because we're shopping in a different market with a ridiculously bigger budget than Brighton... We're signing Champions League quality players, not gambling on unknowns and hoping they'll be Premier League quality...

Yeah, I couldn't be bothered by their fans and this one way rivalry... That said, I'd rather this spark into something more legitimate between the two clubs than the Leeds v Villa rivalry the Dirty Leeds supporters tried to ship us on.

McGinn is best in Ramsey's role... The same role Gallagher plays too... McGinn has been asked to play out of position because of Ramsey's rise this season, and all things considered did a very solid job, despite what some on here claim.

Been reading on VT for years from certain posters talking about how shit Targett is and we need to get rid of... We replace him with a French international who one of the top LBs in the world not in a Champions League club and the same posters are losing their minds because we're selling Targett... Can't make this up.
-
Lol @ everyone saying Mings & McGinn will be on the bench next season... They'll both continue to be starters.

McGinn isn't going anywhere... He was statistically our best performer last season and a nailed on starter regardless of who was the manager. Dennis from Solihull will tell you he's shit, but he's the last person I would bet on leaving this summer.

Why are we talking about Bale? Not seeing a single link between the Villa and him...

What I'm saying is McGinn played the passer role last season, but it isn't his best role... He's better as the more forward creative of the three (runner), the role JJ played for us last season. We need someone better in the passing role than McGinn and Dougie.

He's in the 7th percentile for progressive passes... It means he's passing backward or sideways. Not what we need.

Bissouma doesn't make sense to me... We have ball winners in Kamara, Douglas Luiz, and Nakamba We have runners in McGinn, Ramsey, and Sanson We don't have a passer, which is what we need... McGinn played out of position there all season, and he did a serviceable job, but we really need someone else with a much better passing range in the starting trio. Dougie was played in that role a few times when Nakamba came back and still didn't look as good as McGinn did. Bissouma isn't a passer either... IMO, we need someone like JWP to play that role with McGinn/Ramsey competing for the more forward running/creative role.

Didn't we just hire 2 additional assistants (Set Piece guy and "possession" coach?) last summer that stayed on with Gerrard's appointment? Do we need yet another one?
-
I'm still convinced this is a giant plot by Delphinho to make our workdays more interesting this week...

I still can't find anything in the Everton forums about us being in talks for Richarlison before you posted it here... Got a link?

Where is the link to this? Just checked their forums and I don't see anything like this... There is speculation by one guy who wants to sell Richarlison/others and try to moneyball their team, but nothing about us mentioned.

This right here... A DM isn't going to suddenly make us world beaters going forward or stop teams from cutting open our exposed wings on the counter.

I watched the last 3 Sevilla games over the weekend specifically to see how he plays, because I don't really follow Spanish footy... It's uncanny just how similar to Mings he is stylistically. Incredibly athletic, pacey, good in the air, and very aggressive. Passing looked similar to Mings with a lot of balls hit forward into the channel, but one thing he seemed to excel at was switching play to the other flank with a long diagonal to the right back. That said, he didn't seem to be their main passing outlet to me, that was Kounde, and I'm struggling to see how he would partner with Mings vs competing with him for the spot.
