Whilst I do agree, if he's decent his impact on the team will be far greater than his ability alone. Because we have nobody who can really play that position as it stands, merely having somebody there who can actually play there should be a huge boost based on tactics alone. Think of it as if we were playing with no goalkeeper. The impact of then playing any goalkeeper, even if they were shit, would be huge. Yeah you're right. Just having that presence and option in the team that we don't currently have should make a big difference, and I guess if teams do single him out for special treatment, it creates more space for other players to play and less emphasis on Benteke, so the team as a whole will benefit.

It concerns me a little that there's already too much pressure on him to be this creative spark that'll change our fortunes. If he does start to run the show in his first couple of games, he'll just be targeted and instantly nullified and we're back to square one, which is why I think it's really important that we bring in another couple of creative players, don't just stop our business here and hope everything is fixed. It's a very positive signing though, of course.
  3. Good timing for the club, they can just pass this on as #FoxNewsFacts
  4. Villa have recorded one win in their last 16 PL away trips to promoted opposition.
  5. Please go away. Pleeeeaase go to give us even a modicum of a chance of salvaging some self respect.
  6. I'm not completely sure but I make that more red cards than goals this season.
  7. "What do you think about the chants from the fans today, Paul?" "The expectation at this club is huge, they expect to have a shot on goal against the 20th team in the league who have won once at home all season. It's huge expectancy levels."
  8. Sad for the guy, as he may not even play for us many times again but Clark/Okore/Baker are our future and they need to play week in week out together without being disrupted too much.
  9. Remember when we used to support a team that y'know, like, did stuff. Occasionally they would have a shot on goal. They'd look forward to playing games and think about winning it. We'd sometimes have the odd player that would take someone on. Those were the days.
  10. 11 goals in almost half a season's football. What on earth is going on there.
  11. The thing with Benteke is though, it's not like losing Barry or Milner or Downing or people like that, unfortunately he will have to leave because he has the potential to be amongst the greatest strikers in the world. I could see him playing for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the not too distant future. So I can't really blame the club for not keeping hold of him. In the meantime let's just enjoy having him. He's scoring some absolute beauties.
  12. He looks like he could be the real deal. It's remarkable really to come straight into the team after so long out and just look so comfortable. Brilliant to see.
  13. Christmas sale starts today (I think), few websites say that Paypal leaked the info. Should probably be up at 6 if it does.
  14. I'm really starting to enjoy the healing mechanics this expansion. They've created a nice balance between Cata healing and MoP healing and it feels so rewarding to play. You still probably do get punished a little for other people's bad play but i'm having to really use every single tool at my disposal and use them wisely as every decision matters. The way mana works is that you'll run out through bad play and bad decisions but won't ever be a problem if you play correctly. Holy priest is phenomenally fun atm. Resto shaman has a few mobility problems but long gone are the chain heal spam days, having to really use the correct totems at the correct point and managing cooldowns feels pretty nice to play. Hoping to do some heroic raiding too within the next few weeks.
  15. Yep, worst year I can remember. I'd probably say Divinity: Original Sin has been my favourite, even though I've had stages of being bored of it and had to go back to it a few times. Also, Dark Souls 2 has been one of my favourite games but also one of my biggest disappointments. Odd year.
  16. Wait till the final cut scene at the end of Nagrand questing too. It's a corker!
  17. It's just becoming the same story every week. The side's so mentally weak we basically can't win a game if we take the lead early on. There's so much fear it's crazy, we always fall to pieces. So tired of it. It's genuinely difficult to feel positive because it just feels like another defeat. Cole offered something we haven't had for a long time though, let's hope he can get a run of games without getting injured.
