It's something i'd like to see us try with the remaining games, perhaps when Nakamba returns, but I don't see SG changing it.

Hopefully there is some truth to it. I can't see Southgate being too happy with it, he usually likes his players moving away from Villa not too Villa.

I think you're right, we could have an entirely different midfield next season. Sanson and Luiz (if he doesn't sign a new deal) will most likely move on, and if a good offer came in for McGinn, he could be sold. ------------- New DM/Nakamba ------------------ -----Ramsey --------------------- New CM --------

I think with two really good holding players in midfield in a 4-2-3-1, Bailey-Coutinho-Buendia as the three would be absolutely devastating.

Signing Phillips and Bissouma would be a massive upgrade in the middle, Douglas Luiz and probably Sanson will likely leave.

It's a lot of cash, but would show serious intent to the likes of Coutinho and any other potential targets.

He does seem injury prone, but if he can stay fit he'd be a top class defender for a mi-table team. Most Liverpool fans on social media seem to rate him, but he's just not quite good enough for Liverpool and is down the pecking order. West Ham are linked with him, so unless SG can pull some strings, he'd likely choose them for European football.

Totally agree regarding Joe Gomez, at only 24 he's not even in his prime yet, there are not many defenders who would start for Liverpool in front of VVD/Matip.

I stand corrected then, he's made 1 start. Bellingham had a full season as regular in that Birmingham team, and I don't know how long he had left on his contract but I doubt it was 12 months.

£10m for an 18 year old who's never started a league game is a bit generous. Apparently he's worth half the price of a Brazilian international with over 100 appearances for the club.

Might also be our attackers. We had 20 shots vs. Watford, only 1 on target. Only 2 on target vs. Newcastle.

A decent backup ad CD and DM. i know he can play RB but I doubt he could play in the current wing back role, he'd be more of a defensive full-back.

For me this is the most logical tweak to the system. Now that Konsa is back along side Mings, Chambers can play as DM and drop to form a back 3, which means they spread out to cover the two wing backs when they go forward.

It's good to know Archer and Davis are both doing well in the Championship, in case we end up there next season.

All is it will take is a couple of wins and the mood changes again. If we had beat Leeds, drew Newcastle and beat Watford we'd have been sitting on 33 pts with a game in hand. Next 3 games are as crucial as the last 3, we need 6 points from that minimum.

Prepare to be shocked come Saturday. We were all expecting these changes to come into play vs. Watford, and the only change we got was Ings for Watkins.

Bench Watkins and Ings, play JJ as the striker. He's shown better composure and link up play than both strikers.

We had most of the possession against Newcastle and Watford, and struggled to break down there low block. Bright should have the majority of possession, so hopefully we can hit them on the break, just need to be more compact in the middle.

Makes zero sense. JJ is at his best when driving forward with the ball (similar to SG himself as a player in that way). Having our best young player sit back and defend at left back is insanity.

Very few teams stick to the same formation every game. You need a plan B, if SG and the team don't have an alternative plan then he's in trouble.

I think for this to work, Cash has to stay back a bit. Digne can go forward and Chambers can fill in.
