  1. +1 Dubbs... Need more practice... My PSN tag is... Ajacks046
  2. I watched the Argentina game the other night - until Messi made it 2-0. I was horrified and offended to see the big banner that the Argentina fans had up proclaiming, "Las Malvinas Son Argentine..." Well, i've got news for you fans. They flipping well ain't yours. And don't go snivelling to the Pope like you did not less than 48 hours after he was appointed Pope - as if him being Argentinian was somehow going to magic THE FALKLANDS back under your crass Junta rulership. Spit on you. Also, don't UEFA hand out sanctions to teams where their supporters display overt politically sensitive banners? FIFA must act. Argentina out... Blatter out... I'm throwing darts at a picture of the Argentine Prime Minister De Kirschner (sic) in my office. I am well wound up.
  3. If that was a PS4 game, would it play like GTA5? Some very interesting moments over the last 24 hours or so in this thread... Still have no idea what to believe or what to think as to what will happen to our club later this summer and next season. I'm a bit like that guy in the 'Airplane' film who gets caught up in all the telephone cables while he is spinning in his seat in the control tower. As someone else said, it's great that we have the World Cup here to chill out and relax while the rest of our brain tries to stem the flow of angst and fogginess.
  4. Got my PS4 on Saturday - love it. Played 'Star Wars Angry Birds' for about 2 minutes, and then got straight into 'Need For Speed Rivals' and broke many US driving laws indeed, not to mention some of the most spectacular crashes I have seen since 'Burnout' on the GameCube! Great gaming experience. I joined the on line community with it too with that annual subscription thing. Looking forward to 'Fifa15,' 'Far Cry4,' 'GTA5' (September for PS4?) and 'Star Wars Battlefront' (next year for that). If anyone from VT wants to friend me on PSN, my game name is... Ajacks046 Any other current games for PS4 worth a look?
  5. Just before the World Cup game last night featuring Brazil, my missus and daughter asked me if there was anything specific I fancied for father's day. Very, very jocular, I said, 'A PS4 would be nice.' Never in a million years did I think she would take me seriously - I'm normally a PC gamer so the prospect of having a PS4 'with my wife's knowledge and consent' was a pipe dream. But there in front of me, she ordered it from Amazon. Games for a start are Star Wars Angry Birds (for the WHOLE family to play), some sort of current Call of Duty fantasm shooter and a Need For Speed title. Looking forward to GTA5, Fifa15, Far Cry4 and of course, my whole main reason for a PS4, Star Wars Battlefront. To be clear, being the main breadwinner in the family, I know that it is me who will pay for it, but I have made the choice to get the PS4 instead of a season ticket at B6. Won't stop me taking the daughter to a few games... but my weekend stresses and hassles are now forgotten for at least one season. So... when I get set up on line, I will check back in here and see if anyone wants to see how shit I am at console games... I've never been comfortable with console gamepad type controls.
  6. TRO and Pac - fully agree right now. I'm saving for a PS4 instead... Star Wars Battlefront on the horizon and then I can retreat from the hell of real life for good.
  7. On a more serious note - yes, welcome Phil. I hope you do really well for us.
  8. And you did all this based on what evidence? Smallprint is your friend... Stevo - I know. Just felt I needed to say something without actually saying the guy is brilliant (which I don't believe) or saying he is shit (which I have no real evidence of either). Happy Friday though... we've got one in.
  9. Sun was shining this morning and I finished my week of on call with work. Fantastic, joyous end to the week on offer then. Heard we signed Senderos - went straight on to AVFC and renewed my season ticket. And then I went straight onto the Club website and bought full home kit... with Senderos '27' and the Premier League patches too. Can't wait for August now. lies
  10. I seriously doubt Alan Nixon has any inside information, that article reads like a 'best of panic' posts from this forum. Actually, I thought it read like an April fool teaser. Look - this is the poorest form of journalism going. The guy has quite obviously written a nothing piece just to stir up the Villa fans into a panic frenzy. He's probably got his cock out under the table and jostling with his foreskin as he reads this thread watching us all 'panic' and cry into our cheerios. Nothing to see here. Lazy, lazy, ignorant journalism.

    our soul

I agree with a lot of what you say. Lots to be proud of and admire about AVFC. I'm so happy that we have won the league, won the European Cup in my life time (the proper one, for actual champions) and that I have actually seen my team win trophies in the flesh. There's a whole generation though who have never seen this - close, but no cigar. Having tasted success, I am apathetic to contstant success, like you offer as a view as well. In essence, the pressure is off me to see Villa do really, really again. That said, I do expect us to still have a chance to compete. At the moment, it feels like we are a million miles away from being able to compete - even for a top ten finish. Will FFP allow us to compete - that I am not sure about. I'm desperate to see Villa win the FA Cup in my life time. No excuse for 'a club of our size.' I'm also desperate for us not to slide down to League 1 etc. I think I would probably do a Ritchie Edwards. Sadly, it takes almost unbelievable talent spotting genius, or moneybags owners with nothing else to do in their life but shower a club with their spends. I don't think we would lose our soul. I'd rather be where City are now (UEFA/FIFA troubles or not) than where we are right now. Yeah, colour me jealous.
  12. Maybe, but this Monday is a Bank Holiday in the UK. Don't be too disappointed on here if we hear **** all until Tuesday... Yes, have a good weekend all.
  13. This - right now, it seems the tunnel has no light at the end of it. I should be able to just shrug it off and go 'meh,' as it is after all, only football. But, I am feeling quite down and stressed out frankly, and I'm not even on the payroll.
  14. Exactly this, when I first saw the news that Villa has bought Ivanhoe, I went "WTF, How does he improve us at all?" Yes, we were 9 points clear of Arsenal, who were themselves in 4th place. So... we were 3rd quite late on in the season. Or have I got my seasons mixed up? Not sure if it was doable then, but when we bought Heskey (who scored a great goal on debut at Pompey to be fair to him), I thought we could have got DB9 or even a cheeky punt at Kenwynn Jones - who I think was having a pretty decent rub of the Premier League green at the time. Both are a bag of nails now mind you.
  15. Is this the right place for Kwan gags?
  16. Indeed - I think we had a meltdown, and didn't even realise it... Good OP dodgy... I'm with you (ish). More out of hope than blind faith though... May the force be with us all...
  17. Just because it has come from Murphy, it doesn't make it 100% correct. Anyway. Back to speculating. Aye, I commented on this in the Lambert thread - about him going to America. Why, (assuming that he is going to see Lerner,) would he have to go to America in person? Surely they wouldn't make him go all that way just to get the tin tack? Might as well just do it by Skype and save the club a few quid. I doubt it is to lay some foundations for the forthcoming US tour... Maybe he is meeting the 'new owner' to come up with a suitable, relegation avoidance strategy for next season and whatever else beyond that. Could it be a long distance job interview? I just don't know. But it would stink to high heaven, whether you want him to stay or not... to make him go to America just to get the bullet. I like kinky sex, but that would be very cruel sadism indeed.
  18. Yeah - what I am seeing at Man City and PSG is that even with a super rich owner, they can't spend, without some kind of miracle revenue turnover. Which kind of makes me nervous that whoever we get in as a new owner, will they be able to do any sort of restoration job on our Rolls Royce Silver Ghost of a club.
  19. So - what is with this Pat Murphy comment that Lambert is flying out to America? Why would Randy (assuming that is where Lambert is going) make him fly out to America just to sack him? Seems to me, Paul is staying. At least for the forseeable.
  20. Well, that was an interesting three hours of reading. Thanks guys... Back to work, nothing to see here... move along.
  21. If ever there was a season that made me want to go back in time, this was it... First stop - Wembley 1996... Second stop - Wembley 1957 (we last won the FA Cup in the STEAM DAYS!!!) Third stop - August 1992 to May 1993 (I wouldn't have spent my 18th year as a shy boy either - had a full bag to empty somewhere) Final stop - Rotterdam. **** off and fed up... Modern life is rubbish...
  22. Off topic reply - the Draken is shown to be flying at Waddington this year, along with the Viggen - both from the Swedish Heritage Flight. Back on topic - really good to see some positive feedback from the oppo fans for you guys who made the journey. Sounds like it was all good fun, despite what actually went on during the game on the pitch. Bravo to you.
  23. Glad it's all over now. Swedish Draaken coming to Waddington and 3 F-35 JSFs coming to Fairford. Villa can **** off for the summer. C ya.
  24. Okay, all of this morning's TBAR uncertainty aside... We have a statement to look forward to. We appear to have a 'surprise' as part of the said statement coming. And even Paul (Lambert) appears to have said that what is in the statement is 'unusual.' (I think that was the word I have seen quoted. There is deffo someting going on. **** the Spurs game... Let's just get to Monday now please...
  25. I reckon (sorry Mic), from what you say, Lerner might be announcing that he will write a fresh season of 'Lost.'
