    To be fair to Tonev, in the Malaga game where Roncrete scored he put in the best corner i've seen at Villa Park in quite some time... Granted it was in a friendly and some of his other corners in that game were pretty poor, but 1 in 3 decent corners is better than none with Westy.

    Inconsistant? Our victories this season is based on luck. Have we even played a good game since April - May ? One decent half against West Brom thats about it. We have been consistantly poor imo. Lambert needs to sort out his tactics. Agreed, only been some good performances for a half in the odd game. Chelsea away for example. Pretty worried as I can't see the luck carrying on for much longer.

    Bacuna can play LB he did against West Ham Lowton would have been fine at RB Agreed but I think he doesn't want to sacrifice Bacuna by playing him out of position after how well he's played this year.

    But Clark is a better centre back right now. Hence why I said that?

    Clark is blatantly a better LB than Baker, but, he's a better CB too. Herd and Baker at CB together would be awful. So I think Lambert has made the right choice today, Lowton would be wank at LB, so one footed.

    Win a header against an opposition forward This. Think Lambert is probably thinking that he'd rather have some lads in the box, especially from set pieces, who can win some headers.

    Granted, he's only played about an hour of football for us if that, but he's worth way more than 20m IMO mate.

    Can understand from Lambert's perspective it seeming harsh to drop Kozak after he scored but... I don't think he's got the right attributes to play away, can score but is dire at holding the ball up compared to Benteke.

    Was quality tonight. No longer a player with just potential, been one of our best players this year. Got a great footballing brain and doesn't mind getting stuck in. Loved it when he gave that bell end Osvaldo a bump too!

    If we took as much time with set pieces as Southampton have, then it would be more like 10-15% possession.

    Very very brave by Lambert. Any result other than a win and everyone (us fans, other fans, media) will be on his back to no end.

    I think that might be the case as well Con. Hopefully Lambert sees (if this is the case) that Benteke is being an utter c*** and hasn't just turned into Harewood, and so still gets a good deal for him.

    Very difficult game this one playing just as good as the "top teams" this year, but the gaffer won't be able to wheel out the old "you've got nothing to lose, go out there and play without fear and prove everyone wrong" to displace the nerves. Can't see a win here, but could maybe work off a point, or who knows all three! Very unpredictable game.
