  1. Also Tish leaving would be slight disappointed, as we don't really yet know for a fact he's not up for the task.
  2. Hogan and Hourihane would seem like good additions for us. I don't think we need a major overhaul now, and too much movement (either direction) might severely unbalance the squad further. Having said that, I'd have no problem seeing the likes of Ayew, Kozak, Gestede and Gabby leaving. I suspect this is an unpopular view, but I'd also keep both Gardner and Westwood. They are good enough as squad players for this level.
  3. Don't know about 'playing flexibly', but I do think some players are more 'flexible' or 'versatile' than others, e.g. meaning they're able to more easily adapt to different roles/positions in a given formation. For instance, I recall one of my all time favorite players, Dion Dublin played superbly as a center back a few times, during an injury crisis. Now try thinking Gabby as center back. I'd say most accomplished forwards/wingers are nowadays able to 'adapt flexibly' anywhere in an attacking position. Just consider Sanchez in Arsenal now playing as a lone striker, when he's mostly been used as a winger before in his career.
  4. All things aside, this is the million dollar question imho. Can anyone seriously say Gabby is doing an acceptable job at the moment?
  5. Gestede seems like a perfect fit for Pulis, and the way his team play. I also happen to believe we too still could have some use for Gestede, but then again I'm not against a better replacement, which shouldn't be all that hard to find.

We will beat QPR. We must beat them. 0-2. McCormack to score both, one being a penalty. Tish also has to start. If he ain't gonna be given a chance now, it'll probably never happen. No more Gabby please, nowhere near the first team. Never again.
  7. If this 'drifting in' from the left comes naturally for Kodjia, I wouldn't force him to change his approach, because I honestly don't think he's all that versatile. I'd instead play either McCormack or Gestede in the middle, with Grealish right behind, and Tish & Jedi behind him. Then obviously Adomah on the other flank.
  8. Agreed. In a way this is a 'make or break' kind of match for him. That's not to say we can't recover should we loose, but it's certainly not gonna be easy in that case. I fully expect to see a much rejuvenated side come out all guns blazing, and handily take home the 3 points.
  9. As far as I know a striker is actually allowed to move downfield also during a game, so what's to stop him from fetching the ball on our own half? It's a moot point anyway. He simply isn't good enough anymore. In fact, he isn't even remotely close to being good enough.
  10. Yet we've only averaged a goal per game thus far. This is the REAL problem. Why isn't Bruce fixing it?
  11. No he's not. Anyways, we'e let in on average a goal per game thus far, so the defense isn't really a big concern at the moment. Seeing as we've also only scored on average a goal per game, this is the issue that needs fixing.
  12. I was thinking about this myself last weekend when watching some PL footy. Most 'modern' top teams operate with very few forwards nowadays, and instead have a wealth of options in midfield. Just look at Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Pool, Citeh for instance, almost none have more than two actual strikers, and most only play one. All our forward players aren't of course downright strikers, but most are I think, and I really struggle to understand Kodjia's or Ayew's best position.
  13. OK, let's assume it's just a slight setback. When can we expect some actual consistency? He's had what, 10 games now. One would think he'd at the very least know his best formation, and starting eleven. If he's as good a manager as most seem to think, surely he doesn't need a full season to get 'things right'? We've had a wonderful honeymoon period, which sadly is now gone. We saw the same type of revival when Sherwood first arrived. Then it went to shit, and quite rapidly. I realize the deficiencies of the squad. We are seriously lacking in CM, and we also have minor other issues. However on the whole, I still argue that we have one of the best overall squads in the division, and thus we really should be doing better. Sad times.
  14. Has no football brain whatsoever. Constantly making the wrong the decision. Utter garbage. Please get rid ASAP.
  15. Spot on. We have a wealth of good forward options, and also some lesser options. Instead of trying to develop a tactic and actual game plan, Bruce does what his predecessor did, just throws them in there, hoping for the best. We've been lucky thus far, as a few individual moments of brilliance have saved us. Now we see what happens, when most of them have an off day.
  16. I honestly don't understand why ppl are going mental about a new RB. It's not like we have any sort game plan where we'd benefit greatly from having whatever world class RB bursting up and down. Sure Hutton is shit, as has been stated, but he's still a 'perfectly capable' defender at this piss poor level, where we're at. We have far bigger problems elsewhere.
  17. Well that was pretty pathetic, and I'm not surprised given we have useless turds like Gabby and Ayew starting. Bruce got it all wrong, and sadly I don't think he knows it. People complaining about Elphick and Hutton is utterly baffling. They're not good enough, I think we can all agree, but they weren't the problem today. In fact the whole defense did fine. Problem lies first and foremost in attack. All our forward player only seem interested in dribbling and trying to beat one too many of the opposition. They're simply not playing as a team. There's almost no interchange between our forwards. An altogether different problem is a total lack of drive in midfield. We just seem to bypass the entire midfield every single time, just lumping it up field, hoping one of our more creative players come up with something. Really depressing stuff. This one's solely on Bruce. He needs to come up with a proper game plan, if we're to have any chance. We undoubtedly have concerns, but we also have one of the most expensive sides in this division. No more excuses.
  18. I really want to like Bruce, but he makes it so hard with these lineups. Gabby over Adomah is just plain stupid, I don't care what minor injury he might be nursing.
  19. I hope he scores a hattrick tonight.
  20. Obviously he's lacking a little on the talent side, but the even bigger issue for me really is his weak mentality. Someone mentioned a lack of bravery to his play, and I think that's spot on. I could see him improving, he's got more potential than Westwood, but he really needs to step up to the plate, be more positive, more forward thinking, and ultimately just impose himself where it counts.
  21. Norwich are in terrible form, and like others have pointed out, their style of play should suit us. Thus I can only see a win for us. Just don't expect it to be comfortable or pretty. Ps. No Gabby please. Not in the starting eleven, not on the bench.
  22. Talk about clutching at straws... however I actually think Westy is perfectly fine squadplayer at this level, and he most certainly does get too much stick on here. I hope we keep him.
