  1. Really, you thought he was excellent!? Did we win the game? How many goals did he score? How many chances did he create?
  2. I'm glad he's made an impact, seeing as we are really short of options at the moment. But seriously, how low have we actually fallen when it's deemed good enough for professional football players to simply 'run the channels' and 'put themselves about'. Anyone that's ever played the game can do this. To me this is by far the biggest problem we've had for several years now, so many first team players simply stealing a living, and fans defending them with nonsense like this. No more excuses please. Get rid.
  3. I'd take Lansbury just cos he's better than the rubbish we've got. He isn't however the solution we are looking for.
  4. I like Bruce's post match comments. Talk is cheap though.
  5. Baffling that so many others going to ACON played today, yet Kodjia didn't. Regardless, we should've performed better. Bruce is responsible for fielding that shit of a midfield. Granted he realized his mistake and finally gave Tish a chance. He apparently did quite okay. We need two central midfielders now. Over to you Bruce. Make the right choices, and we still have a chance. We all need to be patient, it takes time to build a team. We're still unbeaten at home.
  6. Shit tactics, shit players, yield shit results.
  7. Seriously, do we not have any other midfielders to play? Is the reserve team playing this 5-0-5 formation as well?
  8. Depressing to concede so early on. Well now we need to show our worth. Simples.
  9. I'm sure we all have this same concern. The way I see it, now is the time for these professional footballers to step up to plate! SHOW ME THE GODDAM MONEY!
  10. I think it's about time we see a proper Villa thumping tonight. I'd gamble tonight, and really go 'gung-ho' against Cardiff: Gollini Hutton-Chester-Baker-Amavi Jedi Adomah-Grealish-Ayew McCormack-Kodjia 3-0 up at half-time. 2x Ross, 1x Kodjia. Then make some defensive subs. See the game out comfortably. Adomah to score one more in the end.
  11. I believe we have almost zero chance of promotion through the playoffs. Nothing I've seen during the first half of the season suggest we would be wholeheartedly 'up for it', when push comes to shove. Leeds for instance is good example of a team with so much higher determination and spirit than us. Sure we might sign a few players now, which may or may not give us an additional boost, still it's really a tall order regardless. I think our only shot at promotion would be finishing first or second, which sadly ain't gonna happen this year.
  12. This is largely I suppose the sad reality of nowadays footballers. I too dislike it, but what can you do. The modern game is built upon all types of 'specialists'. When was the last time we saw a genuinely complete footballer? Zidane is the last one I remember.
  13. You are of course absolutely correct that Rudy's contribution has been minimal at best. Then again, we are seldom playing to his strengths. We didn't utilize him properly last season, nor have we thus far this season. I honestly think he gives us a much needed, different tactical alternative, considering the rest of our 'strike force'. And that is the sole reason I'd still keep him around, because with the right kind of ammunition, he'd surely score plenty. There's no denying he is as good as they come in the air, even though his general movement mostly is quite poor. Ayew on the other hand, really is surplus to requirements. We have plenty of players who offer exactly the same, and more. Ps. £6M move to Boro more or less confirmed. That's that then. Good luck finding a replacement for that figure.
  14. Anyone think Scott Hogan is a likely possibility? On paper he would seem like a good fit, more so than Rhodes imho. Granted I've only seen very little of both.
  15. I'm not so sure it works that way. Just look at Pogba.
  16. Nevermind that. He's never fit for more than a couple of games a season. Also always a walking red card every time he does play.
  17. Absolutely. Problem is our total lack of game plan. We just hoof it upwards and hope that something happens. Thus far Kodjia has produced some great individual goals. Then again if he wasn't so greedy we'd have most likely scored a few more. Him going away, will give others an opportunity to shine, and Bruce might finally be able to instill some much needed cohesion and collective endeavor to this team.
  18. At the end of the day football is, and always has been a team game. If he's not getting specific instructions to be a greedy, ball hogging bastard, perhaps a spell on the sidelines would make a difference.
  19. I still think a partnership of Gestede + McCormack could tear this league apart, if we'd have proper wingers on both sides providing crosses. Impossible to know what Bruce has planned, but at the moment we are severely lacking a game plan, and Rudy isn't a starter, so it's only natural he's looking for regular first team footy elsewhere.
  20. 100 % spot on. We have a lot of quality in the team. Some dross as well. If Bruce can't do anything about our nonexistent teamwork, he isn't a very good football manager.
  21. To me he was nowhere to be found. Don't think he has any favoured position on a football pitch. He did track back nicely a couple of times. Which is something I suppose.
  22. Tonight was a good learning experience for him. He needs to improve his decision-making.
  23. Why is that? Where did he play, and what was he supposed to do tonight? Genuine questions, not trying to take a piss. I just don't get what he brings to the team. Actually, I don't get him being a footballer.
